So I ordered a DIB Vert GT with Ceramic and after some deep thought and warnings from the wife, the dealer and the Ford order guide about keeping it clean, I changed my order to Ebony Premium. I always opposed black and leather for various reasons, but I hate perpetual cleaning even more. I have to say I really like it now and don't regret getting the Ebony. I say get the Ceramic if you don't mind committing yourself to a little more maintenance.

After A plan, rebates & incentives and trade in it isn't near that much. But yes I am lucky that my wife loves me that much. This will be my first ever brand spankin new car. Every car I have owned has been used.

So is it that much better? Do you regret it at all?

No regrets. I went and looked @/sat in cars with both before deciding. Pics on the Ford build site simply do not do it justice. It took weeks to hunt down one with the Premier interior, but it was worth the effort IMO. Even the sales staff @ the dealer commented on the interior being a lot nicer than the base leather.

In the end, it's your car & you have to live with it. So I'd take the time to check both out in person & then make your decision.

OP, I completely understand your dilemma. Ceramic on DIB really pops. I ordered Premier Trim after I discovered that the seat was actually more comfortable and relaxing (when in theory it shouldn't have been).

Both Ceramic and PT interiors can be hard to find to check out in person.

IMO, the silver PP wheels look terrific on DIB. Did you order that option??

I think I am going to hold out for the ceramic....at least that is what I am telling myself today :) I have not sat in the PT and I just don't know that I am going to have time to do that.

Naw.....I went with black. I just like the black look on that combo for exterior.

I honestly wish I went for the redline interior on my dib, but I think the ceramic is a nice second choice to have something a bit more different.

Redline with DIB is too Superman for me personally.

As someone that also ordered the DIB with silver oot stripes ceramic interior and has a pp, I have sat in others and am so relieved I got what I did, I love the color feel etc. Is it better than a non pp black standard leather yes, is it worth the extra wait, IMHO the car of your dreams is worth the extra wait. I personally waited 20 years to get the car I wanted. A week or a month or what ever sure I got anxious, but I just kept smiling knowing when I got it Id be happy.

For the record unless you spill red coolaid or the like on the seats it shouldnt be an issue. Of course you have to outlaw such drinks to maintain sanity.

I liked it but after consideration I felt that blue and red were to strong colors that were just to much for me. I love the redline though

Hey Lance,

As others have said, it's really hard to find the Ceramic Leather interiors on Dealer lots, plus as others have said, the online pics you see of Ceramic Interiors just don't do it any justice.

Seeing it in person, the color is a rich cream color - it's very nice AND it just makes the interior "pop".

We searched high and low for my exact purchase (EB w/ Premium Interior in Ceramic Leather, with Auto trans, with Perf Pack and with Ruby Red exterior) - it was a near impossible find.

If we found a Ruby Red, then going through the options - that combo, it was usually a manual transmission equipped car OR if we found every other option, then the interior was all black.

Even to search used 15's, it was a task to find the exact combo we wanted. My wife actually found my Mustang on the Dealers website. When I called to inquire, they said the car was not even on their lot, it had just left Detroit and was on the transporter. Once I confirmed all of the options PLUS the Ceramic Leather (and they sent me a copy of the window sticker) - a deposit was put down and the rest is history.

Ebony or all black interiors are the most common. I looked at the other interior color options as well - the red, the saddle, the Recaros, etc - the Ceramic just appealed to me the most and like I said, it just breaks up the interior just enough to make it pop AND it's different. I've had tons of people comment how nice the interior looks (and get the comments such as "never knew that color combo was available").

If you're looking for something different and having a Mustang that stands out above the norm, I think you have made a good decision to stick with Ceramic if that is your first choice.

What I'd like to know is, what are the overall production figures of all S550's that do have the Ceramic Leather. I say this because when looking at local Dealers from Jan 2015 to when we located ours in December, there were no Ceramic interiors on the local lots at all.

I know we could have "built" the car, but with persistence in our searches and pure luck, we found what we were searching for AND had the car in possession quicker than building it (while most folks are still waiting for their 16 to even arrive).

Good luck with your final decision and taking delivery of it!

Wasn't there a issue with some ceramic owners saying dye from there jeans discoloring the seats?
