Looking at purchasing a 2017 GT350 from a Nissan dealership. The car has 7000 miles on it and has 2 previous owners. The car fax states that the last owner purchased the car as Ford Pre-owned certified.

From what I’ve read on Ford’s page about this warranty, it should transfer to me no problem. What do you guys think and how could I go about checking this? Below is the link to the car fax

CarFax isn’t the tell all end all. I’ve seen enough where this aren’t report or someone types on the wrong vin too (more rare). I’d definitely test drive it and check fluid at the very least. I’m sure they kept up oil changes?

Are they apart of a bigger dealer group? What’s telling would be getting the OASIS report from Ford.

You’re best bet is to ask in writing about the CPO although it should be included 7 itll include a deductible of $100 per visit.

What Sigma6 said. Carfax only reports what was reported. It won’t report a buddy’s shop replacing the engine. Not sayin just sayin. Carfax even covers their arse in the first paragraph:

“This CARFAX Vehicle History Report is based only on information supplied to CARFAX and available as of 4/16/20 at 2:42:29 PM (CDT). Other information about this vehicle, including problems, may not have been reported to CARFAX. Use this report as one important tool, along with a vehicle inspection and test drive, to make a better decision about your next used car”

Plus, I wouldn’t necessarily trust the first two owners of this type of car. You know they were checking out those high rpm’s. That’s just me though.

Also, who would trade in a GT350 for a Nissan? (No offense Nissan). That would lead me to believe they purchased this at an auction. That’s just speculation though.

If you really want it, take it to a shop or dealer that you trust for your own thorough inspection (again, no offense to the used Nissan sales department)

Best of luck.

A CPO is generally transferable to a new owner, But, if something had been done to the car that would void the CPO before the new owner purchased it, they may not be aware of it.

Thanks for the responses and advice. Regardless, if the vehicle isn't modified, wouldn't it still maintain the 5 year power-train warranty? Also, how do I run an OASIS report?

do not believe what is on the carfax. I bought my 17 gt/cs nov 18 with 9000 miles on it, had a clean carfax only thing on it was a oil change done by dealer at 3000 miles. after I got the car home I found paperwork mixed in with my papers showing engine was replaced at 3000 miles for out of round cylinder bore. I went back to dealer and raised hell then they were able to find more info. engine was replaced with new long block and they gave me a 100,000mile 7 year warranty. so the original selling dealer kept this info off the carfax.

I was able to go through ford pass and locate the extended warranty that the vehicle has from being CPO so I can at least confirm that much
