Hi All,
I have been lurking on this site for quite a while now being sure to check it every day for any new photos and info on the '15. Thanks for all the great info!

I've read about negotiating for the best price for cars that are already in production using X-plan, checking for incentives, etc. I'm wondering what tips you guys can give for getting the best possible deal when it comes time to pre-order.

I understand that there may not be very many (if any) incentives when this becomes available, but I am a member of MCA so will be able to qualify for X-plan. However, since this will be pre-order, I wont be able to request to see the invoice with the X-plan pricing on it.

So, with all that being said, what recommendations do you have to get the best price? Also, I am wanting to order as soon as I can, so I will not be waiting; I'm very anxious to get driving one of these. Thanks.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. First you are going to have to find a dealer that will honor the X-plan pricing, this is not a requirement from Ford, it's voluntary at the dealers discretion.
When the X-plan pricing became available on the GT500's, it took me 3 months and 30+ dealers before one agreed to do it. I have a feeling the 2015 Mustangs will be the same way, at least for a little while. Most dealers are going to try and Mark-up the GT's for the first month they start hitting the lots, although if you do some searching I'm sure there will be some that will sell at MSRP. X-plan, probably have to search a little harder. Good luck :-)

Not sure what you are talking about... go order the car you want, when it comes in use X-plan to lease/buy it.

I never really heard of a Dealers refusing to deal with X-Plan, as it is a company incentive and policy. Only caveat, is fitting your order into their floor-plan.

Search far and wide, I hate buying vehicles and dislike typical dealerships but we have to purchase 2-3 trucks per year to cycle into our truck fleet. I live and work in Indianapolis but we purchase our company trucks at Sioux Falls Ford in South Dakota. No BS and they already list low prices. Low document fees. Should have bought my 11 GT there but didn't know of this place until a road trip out west and saw a local ad. It looks like current GT are $5-$6k under list, one is under $30k. No discount shown on the GT500 but would be worth a call.

Delta flys out there.

Edit- if you mod your car or worry about warranty you may want to buy local.

I expect major mark-up dramas at least until the end of this calendar year.

So from the sounds of it, what I need to do make sure to find a dealer that will take my X-Plan, pre-order it, and request to see X-Plan price on invoice when they receive the car to get it at that price.

I doubt that I will be able to get any better of a deal than X-Plan for this car since I want to order as soon as I can.

Virtualized: When they build your vehicle on the computer they will know the x-plan price, just make sure you tell them when your building it so they know.

No, it isn't

What do you mean fit their floor-plan? Are you talking about if you change your mind after ordering it, do they want it on their lot?

Just one tip that might cause some people a bit of trouble.

If you have plans on trading in your current car watch out because dealerships aren't going to promise you whatever trade in value they quoted but for a few weeks. It will take longer for you to order and receive your vehicle. And most dealerships require a deposit to order.

In short, the car arrives, they have your deposit check, and could lower their offer on your trade in putting you over a barrel.

I'm not saying that every dealer would pull something like that, just that its a possibility.

Pace, you're a dealer, are you not? Will you guys take xplan on the new car? Come on, hook a brother up. :D

Let's at least wait til the order bank opens :ford:

That's a reality of the business and the market. A dealership would be foolish to appraise a car based on the future. We will appraise some cars if we know the order will be filled in 6-10 weeks and will account for that in our appraisal. The customer then has that same 6-10 weeks to sell it themselves if they choose, potentially fetching more money than we offered.

I'll back you up. I wouldn't expect a dealer to appraise mine now and honor it 5 month later. That wouldn't be fair to them.

Part of the reason my dealer is so good to me, besides repeatrepeatrepeat customer is that I've always been fair to them also.
