That's what I thought to. I always thought the "unique chassis tuning" was just redundant. But maybe it is something different that we're missing?

Btw - is it preferable to upgrade the sway bars in pairs? Or do people often upgrade rear and fronts separately? I'm thinking of upgrading the rear sway even beyond the PP but I don't even want to touch the fronts because those will be a bitch to replace. Rear's seem pretty simple.
From the link Cascadia_302 gave, one difference with the suspension besides the extra braces and sway bar, are the shock absorbers. The normal GT uses twin tube shock absorbers while the PP uses monotube.

Wheels are probably $1200/per from Ford. PP for $2500 is a freaking steal!
Yeh but you're negating the cost of the OEM wheel they aren't putting on the car instead. The difference is probably $200-300/wheel at their cost tops.

I think its more economical to upgrade an already pp equipped car than a base car! You already have the brakes so all you need is swapping the springs, adding the wheel hop eliminator, getting wider wheels and tires! Thats my understanding!

Just pick and choose what you think you want/need and buy aftermarket parts. In most cases you'll be purchasing superior products anyhow.

As for me, It's a really fair price for the Performance Pack -- not crazy about the black wheels, or how heavy they are -- but everything else is really reasonable. I might consider BMR front-only springs (supposedly a front-only kit is being developed), changing the gear to a 3.55 (I still want that TORSEN diff though), and a wheel/tire change...

I agree, given that you don't have the PP to start with.

Even at $200/wheel, we are talking $1k difference after tires too (at their cost). The performance package, IMO, was a steal.

I'm not going to be tracking the car much, if at all. A few light mods- exhaust, tint, short shifter, wheel hop correction and maybe after the warranty- tune and intake, and this car is perfect! I payed less than invoice, so I guess I technically didn't even spend the $2500 that the PP lists for. It would have been much more of a hassle to buy wheels/tires, strut bars, springs, etc etc and then worry about selling the old and installing the new than just buying it already put together. I sold my BMW so I could spend my Friday nights and Saturdays drinking bourbon and sleeping in, rather than wrenching on my car.

So here is the list of the performance package upgrades:
• Strut-tower Brace
• Larger Radiator*
• Unique Chassis Tuning
• Upsized Rear Sway Bar
• Heavy-Duty Front Springs
• K-Brace
• Brembo™ 6-Piston Front Brake Calipers with Larger Rotors
• 19” X 9” (F) 19” X9.5” (R)Gloss Black Aluminum Wheel
• Unique Stability Control, EPAS & ABS Tuning
• 3.73 TORSEN® Rear Axle
• Gauge Pack (Oil Pressure and Vacuum)
• Spoiler Delete

Can anyone tell me what the heck is "Unique Chassis Tuning"?? They make it sound like they go underneath the car and do something so special to the suspension that they call it unique. I have seen no details as to what this really is. Wouldn't adding the brace, springs and bars be considered unique chassis tuning already?
I would say you are looking at something written by the Marketing guys, not a true technical list, so yep, it's redundant.
And yeah, could the dealer even install the unique tuning that applies to the computer controls? I bet Ford won't allow it.

best bet is to trade it in and get one that has the PP.

Aftermarket is good, but more expensive, more down time, more people unscrewing and screwing bolts.

Plus if your in an accident, i'm assuming they will replace back with stock parts (unless you let them know you did the upgrades which moves your payment up more)

the PP on a 5.0 is a steal. after i read what it comes with, and looked at the price, it was a no brainer.

From what I added up its at minimum around $7000 in parts and I think I'm missing a few things and you can't price the "Chassis tuning" and "Unique ABS"
