Powerband

Hello friends. I've heard people say what a rush of power these cars have especially after 6k rpm's. In my 2020 GT PP1 mt I'm not seeing it. The powerband is so flat. For example, if I floor it in 3rd at say 5k rpm or downshift to 2nd at 6k rpm the acceleration feels the same. Generally in all my other cars (and bikes) the higher revs produce more power where as the Mustang seems flat to redline. Is this just the way these cars feel or could it be something else? Thanks.

There's the problem. That's why there's no pep up top.

Is that a fact? Or an opinion? If so the Ford stage one will resolve it? I won't use anything else if I go this route for warranty reasons. Thanks

this. the one car i recall being impressed with top end pull was my buddy's porsche 944 turbo with the boost cranked up. felt relatively tame until maybe 3500 or so and then it was just night and day when the boost came on. try driving a stock SBF 5.0 from a Fox or SN car. decent tq down low and then it just shuts off below even 5k rpm. the coyote 5.0 will keep pulling high up but as Schwein said you wont have some afterburner-esque surge up high like you would with a power adder.

this has been my experience at least. ive been in relatively few power adder cars, none of any were coyotes, so my experience is limited.

The coyote has a very smooth powerband. It won't give you the same feeling as a camaro or dodge with a push rod engine even when your pulling car lengths on them.

The car has flat power & torque curve.

Pop a Centrifugal blower on it, crank up the boost and you feel the surge in the upper RPM's!
