I’d put in an octane booster in. Try something like race gas concentrate I. The orange and white can.

The amount of stress on the engine is directly proportional to the power demand. At low power demand (less than 50%) there really isn't too much you can do with timing and mixture that will damage the engine. Get too rich or too lean and the engine just quits running. Same with timing. The kind of problems that break things only happen with high heat and pressure, which for our engines means boost.

So the advice to drive it like your granny is the best. If you don't have the Performance Pack I would put the boost gauge up on the center display and keep the engine out of boost as much as possible.

Another option might be to reset the ECU, which as I understand it will load a very conservative timing/fueling map. The ECU "learns" as it goes, monitoring engine knock to set timing. With the lower octane fuel the timing should stay close to the default. This is speculative; before doing this I would check with someone who can offer a more expert opinion.

You can try one or more of the following:

1. If the tuning device allows it (i.e. AP), switch to the stock map.
2. Siphon the gas out and refill with 91/93.
3. Unplug the harness to the WGA boost solenoid, which limits boosts to the WGA spring rate (should be around 7 PSI for stock).
4. Drive really carefully.

Really don't appreciate your arrogance, my car is sheet metal, it is not some sort of special trophy. Ford designed it for transportation and it 10 years it will be a depreciated block of sheet metal.

Assuming you are talking about the FP power pack which requires a laptop to tune/switch to stock, if there is absolutely no 91+ octane around:
1)have the laptop with you or

2)have someone bring it to you to put it back to stock so u can use regular octane or

3) Octane booster or

4) keep a small portable tank of 91+ octane in the car for emergencies
