I haven't tried any lower-octane gas yet, just 93.

I've also noticed a difference in throttle response and power delivery on 93 vs. 87. It's not so much that I feel the difference in peak power (which is minimal), it's that at mid loads it builds smoother. That makes sense, since it can increase timing due to less knock propensity. So far I've had two tanks on 87, and 1.5 on 93 (current one). I've also noticed a 1-1.5 mpg improvement on 93.
I've been running 91 or 93 since I got it. However, this is the first tank of No ethanol (nonOxygenated) gas I've run. The difference is night and day.:eyebulge:

I'm gonna have to try to find a pump that has E0.

I just took delivery of an EcoBoost Premium Convertible. Taking it from the dealership, I set it in Sport Mode. I aggressively drove it in town then onto the Freeway and set the cruise to 72 mph. When I got home after about 30 miles, my average mpg was just shy of 30 mph. Not bad for having less than 50 miles on the odometer. I wonder how much better mpg I will get in Normal setting, not accelerating hard and with the engine finally broken in?

Now I have a question since there is a thread about MPG.... When I had my Kia Soul, there were "sweet spots" at certain speeds where you would get the best MPG at.. (Example: 52 MPH would give you 39 MPG and 62 MPH would give you the highest around that speed of 35 MPG).

Is the same concept the same for the Mustang? What are the speed spots that is best for MPG while cruising?

Currently about 130 miles on the odometer, first tank, dealer supplied regular.

13MPG average.

75% city, 25% highway.

GT 6sp Manual w/3.55 gears

Will see how it fares after a few thousand miles lol.

Near Pefect EcoBoost...

Finally took delivery of EcoBoost Premium Convertible. Sheet metal 'perfect' alignment. No paint blemishes (I used Iron X and hand washed it myself for close up inspection)! No leaks in doors, windows, trunk, etc. Hood excellent...latches from 6 inch height (no banging needed). Not one problem noticed on the interior leather, dash, etc. I found a (wax?) arrow pointing at the lower left corner of the left rear tail light...but no defect found (QC at work?).
Maybe Flat Rock did more than fix the 'firewall' problem while the 4,000 were on hold. I guess the 2 1/2 month wait was worth it.
During the 10 weeks wait, I inspected a lot of Mustangs in dealerships. I usually found one or more defects. i wrote up a three page list of problems Forum member have mentioned on their cars. Not one on the list for my car as far as I can tell. I got close to 30 mpg going home with 12 miles on the odometer to start. Can't wait to see how much better when the engine is broken in.

I'm at 11.5 right now - I haven't done too much highway - 350miles on the clock. I get 47mpg (highway) on my 13 mazda 3, those days are gone.

I'm hoping this will go slightly up as I put more miles on the engine.
im in the ~12 range too.. mostly all city driving with the gt pp 3.73's...

I drive around mostly in 4th because it feels right.. but have seen others talking about driving around in 6th. Im not sure if thats where the major difference is, or if I need to put more miles on it? Im at ~650 mi now.

I skipped gears and got it up to 17. 2nd works better than first, it's great.

I can manage 17mpg, 11 was harsh.

Edit: just like Sc00ter 17 is while driving very carefully. shifting around 2k - with just enough throttle to accelerate slowly
are you saying you start in 2nd gear from a dead stop? what gears are you skipping? i thought that was bad for the transmission?

Would you be willing to share that list? :)
