After the ribs were off the smoker I threw on some pork belly strips for later.

that does it. I'm gonna find out where you live even if I have to send out the drone army.

Below is the obligatory Turkey dinner all home made except for the dinner roll. The orange 'mash' at 10 o'clock is Japanese Yam+Kabocha (acorn squash)+American sweet potato mix with diced Turkish dates, mango chunks, a spoonful of orange juice concentrate, and salt and white pepper. I amazed even myself for a seat-of-the-pants recipe. Steamed Chinese broccoli is my new, favorite green.

:giggle:

My sister did ALL the work this year.

I donā€™t have have any of the before pics, but Iā€™m preparing for a good soup. She was going to throw out the carcass; I threw it in a bag and brought it home instead.

Man, I love me some diversified foods. Well I love most all foods. But the Thai/Korean/Japanese/Viet stuff in this area is...amazing. I've focused a lot of my cooking on those flavor profiles. I can't get enough of them.

I come from an Italian, Polish; and Southern background for what it's worth.

Cold sesame noodles.

put them on a hook and you can catch bass and carp all day. :)

For a more appetizing look, spin the noodles on a fork and use a spoon to contour.

Standing rib roast with a basic salt, black pepper, thyme, and rosemary rub. Cooked to medium rare.

The internal temp after ~30min of rest:

Potatoes au gratin; although I didn't realize how little cheese was in the fridge before starting. :crying:

Yorkshire pudding with the roast drippings and a little bacon grease.

SautƩed shredded carrots with roasted garlic, butter and bacon grease.

There was a salad in there somewhere. And finally a nice Malbec to wash it all down.

Excellent spread!
Thanks!

It was so good. The potatoes were the only thing lacking. The roast came out perfect! Can't wait to make a drunk sandwich with it and the pudding in a few hours.

Sadly I'd usually cook this for more people. This year it was only for three. Thanks COVID. šŸ˜”

Just me and the wife this year. Silver lining, we get to have all of the chocolate chips cookies she made.
#1 note. I made my drunken sandwich and it was delicious.

#2 My GF made pineapple upside down cakes. I hate eating sweets, yet I love pineapple, and I love cake. I also love homemade chocolate chip cookies; soft. šŸ¤¤

#3 I think I've added another 10lbs, to my already 30lbs from COVID living, just this week.

#4 hate this stay at home situation. Yet love it even more.

#5 New Year sets a new point. I'll work off the fat so I can eat it again next year.

....I love chocolate chip cookies: soft.
