You really are blind.
Bind? Mmmm-Kay.

The Washington Examiner is quite biased. I am far from blind. You go ahead and keep believing opinion pieces and discounting science and evidence.

This OTC Medicine May Keep You Safer From COVID, New Study Says (msn.com)

Hello; Thought this information might be of use. It seems taking aspirin can might be of benefit with regard to symptoms from having an infection of the virus. I have been taking a low dose aspirin for many years for other reasons. Anyway thought this information could be of value.
After reading reports of possible blood clot issues from at least one vaccine it made sense to consider aspirin. I did up my dose slightly for a week or so after the second Moderna shot. Some was due to the discomfort I had after the second shot.

Please note; I am not pushing aspirin. Read and do your own research, then decide for your self.

Also I am making a request that we not get into the name calling and personal insults which got a thread about Covid shutdown recently.

(hello; made an edit above. changed can to might.)
Considering that aspirin has been used as a blood thinner for years it makes sense that it might help to prevent blood clots so why are some people getting upset that this was even stated?

Hello; I am the OP and have thought about this myself. If you read the thread you have seen some of the comments such as how dumb I am to tell people to take aspirin. You quoted my post so anyone could have seen in that post I did qualify my comments. Telling people to check out taking aspirin for them selves. So any rational person should not have had an issue with my post. However some did quite a few times.

Two things have come to mind. One being that I was talking about a potential negative side effect of their precious vaccine. There are some vaccine champions and for a long time tried to keep a dialogue going the vaccines are safe with no serious side effects. That may be why I was jumped on about aspirin. It pointed a finger at the blood clots. I was thinking of the blood clots reported from the virus. Not ready at that time to mention possible blood clots from the vaccine.

The other idea is the ones who jumped me about this had been in disagreements with me in previous threads. You may know of the sort wo lurk on a forum and pick a fellow member to go at. It may be possible I could say the sky is blue and these same ones would find a way to make an issue of it.

Those things said, I do agree with you as to question why it should be a thing to be upset about. I consider it a bonehead reaction at the very least.

I don't disagree with what colour it is where you are at the time you posted it but it's not the same colour everywhere at the same time.

There are a few folks in this thread that certainly qualify for the lurker award but when anyone posts in Off Topic on contentious subjects what exactly are you expecting to happen next? Would you prefer to be ignored? Would that help?

Hello; Thank you for proving my point with a response about the sky. Perfect example. If you were not trying to be helpful that's OK, I'll take it.

Not sure it had to be contentious, but I can deal with the attacks. Let me suggest you go back just a few posts. Reap asked a question about the first post I made. I was trying to give the best answers I can think of. However I cannot read their minds so I have to guess.

i was being realistic re the sky can be different colours at different locations so differing opinions can in fact be correct for each poster while not being wrong for others. Mostly grey sky here, most of the time.

You started a thread on possible Covid protection , if you really don't believe that this would turn out to be contentious then i genuinely am lost for words.

The problem you seem to have is that when anyone disagrees with your opinion this is taken by you as a personal attack when in fact it's not. It makes it very difficult to have any kind of Off Topic discussion with you since any rebuttal of what your opinion is, is deemed to be a personal attack. It's damned near impossible, clever ploy by you i will give you that.

I hope you find your Mustang, i hope you have many miles of motoring pleasure with whatever vehicle you find yourself in but I'm done for everything else. Stay safe, be happy.

Your lack of self-awareness and your role as victim is very interesting indeed.

You are the one doing much of the name calling and the posting of smarmy, negative posts. You are well versed at baiting, I will give you that.

Here comes the science bit...

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16086703/

Results: The incidence of hospital admission due to major GI events of the entire (upper and lower) gastrointestinal tract was 121.9 events/100,000 persons/year, but those related to the upper GI tract were six times more frequent. Mortality rate was 5.57% (95% CI = 4.9-6.7), and 5.62% (95% CI = 4.8-6.8) in study 1 and study 2, respectively. Death rate attributed to NSAID/aspirin use was between 21.0 and 24.8 cases/million people, respectively, or 15.3 deaths/100,000 NSAID/aspirin users. Up to one-third of all NSAID/aspirin deaths can be attributed to low-dose aspirin use.

What that means is aspirin kills people and is not as benign as you think.

No good doctor recommends low dose aspirin regimens for primary prevention.

It just goes to show you that some people love to argue no matter what the subject. They must be lonesome. The question part of my statement seems to be self evident but apparently not to all.

A coronavirus epidemic hit East Asia 20,000 years ago, new study shows (msn.com)

Hello; Early on in the pandemic some including myself made statements that during most viral outbreaks there were parts of the human population who had some sort of natural resistance or immunity to even a new pathogen. Not the sort of immunity from surviving the infection.
This is not a new idea. That sort of thing has been known of before. In other words some people just would not get sick from the new virus. Perhaps the example often used has been the cowpox milk maids would get that was later linked to them not catching smallpox. (hope my recall is correct on that.)

Anyway with new techniques there is a notion humans may have faced a corona virus many years ago in some parts of the world. 20,000 years is well before rapid transportation so the outbreaks likely would have been more isolated and not wide spread like today.

Interesting read anwway.

Another MSN news article...

Nowhere in the piece you referenced does is mention any ancient derived immunity to Covid-19 for modern day humans.

It is an interesting read regarding human evolution, but does not bolster your argument one iota that humans have some natural immunity to Covid-19.

Swing-and-a-miss!

Why some people who haven't had Covid-19 might already have some immunity - CNN

Hello; Here is one notion as to how some may be protected from even new types of virus. I posted about this idea in a different web site forum last year but not on the forum. This is about exposure to similar but not the same virus. The corona virus is part of the same family as the common cold virus.

Of course this is not about how ancient human exposures would work in modern times. But the concept has been known in modern times for a long time.

Viruses: Are you susceptible to the coronavirus, flu, and more | Genetic Lifehacks

Hello; This article perhaps better explains the concept. You do not have to read very far to find the information.
When I have more time I will go thru and pull some quotes that are worth while and will edit or re post the information.

Too bad CJJon; you jumped on me a bit too soon.

Covid is sharping it’s sword. We are about to figure out if this little experiment with vaccines was a good idea.
Indeed. I still wear a mask in close quarters.

It fascinates me how fast the variants become dominant. With so many millions infected there is a good chance the virus figures us out...
