Hey guys been on here everyday for months now, waiting for the day when I can possibly contribute. Anyway, came across this article today indicating that the 2.3 that's also found in the 2015 Lincoln MKC is a $1140 upgrade option. Don't know how that'll translate to the 15 mustang but figured I'd throw it out there. It's an older article but I used the search on here, didn't find It anywhere else.

Nice find and welcome to the site fellow tri-stater :)

I think 1000-1300 is very plausible. It's about what I would expect and given some of the rumors about the EB Mustang also being an upgrade engine option on the base instead of its own separate trim, I think that makes sense pricing wise.

Curious how the packages will be priced... I think that will determine for many whether to go with a GT or EB+PP.

Yea that's what I was thinking. If there's only a 1500 dollar difference, fords really giving no reason to go with the v6 (could be part of the v6 phase out). But I believe it was originally speculated to be more or less about half way between the sixer and the gt as far as pricing. Doesn't appear to be the case, and that's not a bad thing for those looking for the most bang for the buck who can't quite reach the gt price range.

The base engine for this MKC is a 2.0L Ecoboost (not a 3.7L NA like the Mustang), so I don't see this telling us anything.

I'm certainly hoping the Ecoboost price adder is under $2000, but we can only hope !!

Great find this is what I said it would be like. I was using the F150s and how they do the engine upgrades.

Hm, if it was over 1500 who would buy it? Sure you get some extra tq, but I'm betting the real-world MPG will be negligible. I'm hoping they prove me wrong and we get 35mpg, but I doubt it.

I would guess most people on forums who are opting for the 2.3 aren't doing it for the mpg, but more tq (definitely), lighter (confirmed), better weight distro (almost definitely) and tunability (remains to be seen).

Especially if you auto x the extra price over the base is well worth it. It's still a pretty big discount to what the GT should run you.
