I wonder if certain stations buffer, and how consistent that is. I can't drove through tree lined streets but sometimes it works just fine inside a parking structure. I'm definitely gonna pass, its just not as cheap as Pandora or Spotify. Some people like talk radio, but I've become used to podcasts for that.

Mine cuts out all the time too. I was beginning to wonder if something was wrong with my car, but with all the similar complaints I now realize it's a Mustang problem. I'm not too worried as I have no plans to renew and I don't listen to anything but my iPod anyway.

Let's narrow down the "problem" by location...

Just by glancing at some of the user locations in this thread, it seems like the issue is more prevalent in CA?

I'm in NJ with a new 2016 EB fastback - no reception issues at all with Sirius - and I drive through the NJ Pinelands, which is dense forest where sometimes cell signals can disappear!

I don't have any reception issues even when on highway or rural roads.

Maybe it's an actual satellite location issue in some parts of the country? Have any of you tired to call Sirius to see what their take is on it?

I wouldnt care if it was free but I refuse to pay for shitty sound.
This. My reception isn't great either, but I could live with it if the sound quality wasn't so awful. Sound quality in our Durango is much better and it's not just the speakers. SiriusXM in the stang sounds like a 96kbps mp3.

I am in Colorado. Have had 4 other vehicles here with Sirius and never had any problem with reception. The Mustang, on the other hand, frequently loses the signal. Not enough to be annoying, at least so far, but definitely way more than my other cars.

Audio quality with Sirius sucks anyway though and I am seriously considering just ditching it in favor of streaming music from my iPhone, especially because Sync 3 works so well with it. The only thing that's hard to replace about Sirius are the news channels like CNN.

Yeah, my car here in Phoenix frequently cuts out. Like you can't go more than 10 minutes without it cutting out. Sometimes it does for at least 5-10 seconds. The sat antenna on these cars is garbage. I rarely had loss of signal with my SCC1 Sirius module that I hooked up to my Boss. My Fusion also rarely loses signal. Pretty hard not to blame the Mustang antenna for the poor performance.

But there are people on here who say it's got fantastic signal, better than past cars they've owned.

Im wary of taking it back to Ford if they're going to keep telling me it's not broken.

I play Sirius XM all the time: going to work and coming back home. I only lose reception for a couple of seconds whenever i pass an overhead and As long as I'm underground or on tunnel, it'l be muted until the second my car's antenna is exposed to the sky.

Sorry for your hearing ya'll experiences, but I'm loving my Sirius XM, very clear almost CD-like especially the bumping bass on EDM Stations.

All I can say is .. the reception vs. my previous car is terrible driving the same route I've driven for 6 years.

We bought my wife's Escape in April (Sync 2) and my Mustang in November (Sync 3).

My wife and I don't drive the same route, but before I got my Mustang I remember her Sirus was consistently connected. Never dropped out once. Didn't think much of it because I assumed that was normal.

My car... Not so much. MANY dead spots in my 10 mile city (no highrises) commute.

I don't listen to music, but I love about 4-5 of the sports channels.

No problems with Sync/Sirius in my 2013 SHO
Just picked up 2016 GT PP and it cuts out constantly, acquiring signal.

Has to be an antenna, hardware issue.

Anyone know of a TSB/Recall or fix?
