Just goes to show... since they are the only player in the market, they can sound as bad as they want. If our Shaker Pro systems with 12 speakers sound this bad, I can only imagine a standard stereo with SAT radio sounds good with with just 2 or 3 speakers. I renewed for another 6 months (get 6 months pay for 2) since the trial expired (gonna on a road trip in August) but wont renew again. I wish the Shaker Pro had a setting (AGC) that would boost my "softer" iPod levels. Drives me nuts turning the volume up and down!

We have had Sirius for the last 15 years or so. Things went south when they merged with XM 5 or 6 years ago. They have no reason to innovate and provide superior service now. They are the only provider.

First I've read through this thread and I'm surprised. I thought possibly there was just a problem with my Shaker on Sirius. When I switch sources to Sirius, the sound starts out ok for a couple seconds then sounds really flat, like no bass. I switch to FM and it is much better. It actually does the same thing if I switch to HD though. Seems just regular FM or CD/USB are best.

Probably shouldn't have revived this thread just to make an off-hand comment, but I did anyway. :sunglasses:

Yes, the SiriusXM sounds horrible in the Mustang (other Fords, idk). We had a Dodge Durango with SiriusXM and it actually sounded pretty good, and ditto with the Subaru Ascent we have now. So, decent sound quality with SiriusXM is possible, but for whatever reason, in the Mustang is just sounds awful, like AM radio. Maybe Ford's decompression algorithm isn't as good? No idea, but I wish they'd figure it out.

I wish they would just stop putting Sirius in our cars or offer it as an add-on. I am positive we pay for the hardware in the cost of the vehicle.

Bitrate on Sirius is garbage. Use Spotify, you can even download the songs on your wifi at home and use no cell data.

Use the SiriusXM app from your smartphone instead. It sounds much better. You can adjust the playback quality.
