Poor Mans Exhaust Mods

Just wanted a little kick in the pants and to hear the sound of the COYOTE when I slammed the throttle. I had a budget of $500 and those 1000 or 1200 or more systems was just a little too much for a ready made bolt on system ,,, so I went with a universal xpipe resonator delete ,3 in flowmasters and bigger exhaust tips and here is what I spent for this no-clamp set up:

-2 black super 44 flowmaster 3 inch mufflers 84. 00 each
-1 summit xpipe 69.00
-2 Summit 5 inch exhaust tips $35.00 each
-labor from my muffler guy $400.00


For about 700.00. I got the sound I wanted and that aggressive look with bigger tips. Maybe some long tube headers next?

I went the 'el cheapo' route too(custom made H pipe <$100 and then Roush AB, which I got a good deal on and installed myself). I'm still thinking about having my axlebacks welded on for the best seal. :cheers:

Looks great but there are options out there for an inexpencive catback setup. MBRP can be had for under $500 shipped if you know where to look.

no cutting ....very little room in the factory cutouts 4in or 4.5 wouldhave been ideal.. the 5 inchers pushed it

I so wanted the Roush but I already stole the hood sccop...lol...

yes welding is the way to go...clamps are good but welding is a little more secure ..

I just wanted to ask if anyone know resonator delete (Y-pipe) would be a good way to get an aggressive sound out of my Ecoboost base model? My friend recommended me to do that, since I want to save money. Please let me know! Thank you all

Nope. 2 clamps, 2 rear hanger bolts. Bolts on 3" with h-pipe. 30 min install.

Not an export on the eco boost but I would try americanmuscle.com. I even thought I saw a ypipe for sale on ebay,
