Get your install money back. Leave it as-is and don't look back.

The weld is not going to cause problems down the road, and may be more secure / trouble free. Symmetry is just your OCD talking, and getting the install money back should be good compensation for the lost resale value that you may never need anyway. Be glad they're offering anything in compensation.

Hey if they fixed the poor fitment by welding and changing the hanger I am gonna say it's worth it.
I mean come on, if they did install them like factory, how are you gonna resale when the factory mufflers are gone?

General idea I am getting is just take the money and live with it, seems like the best idea.

If and when I decide to remove this axle back, how do I cut it off without totally ruining the stock structure?
