I seriously don't understand why so many people want to black out things like their badges, ponies, wheels or roofs for that matter. Personally I think THAT lookes incredibly cheesy and cheap.

If you don't want a pony in your grille then why buy a Mustang to begin with?

But to each his own of course.
It's the trend now, black, black and just when you think you have enough black, add some more b l a c k! The black wheels always reminded me of NASCAR, I despise black wheels, but they have grown on me - regretfully.

True. Fine if folks follow a trend because they like it and it may just be a coincidence but if that person makes fun of other trends well that's just comical.

I guess I'm in the minority and like the chrome on my 50th Anniversary AP. But, I also like the look of the blackout on some of the color options out there. Do what you like and forget about everyone else. You only need to please yourself.

Anthracite grey from plastic dip to match the wheels.
This is exactly what I did. Got a can of metallic anthracite pasti dip and dipped both my pony and GT logo. I think the pony is iconic and didn't want it to completely disappear into the grill....but yet I just wasn't feeling it in the chrome either. I felt the anthracite was the perfect in-between.

Just wondering what do you guys think of the pony in the grill?
I realize it is Ford's Icon trademark, but to me it really looks cheesy. I had my R/R Prem. for two days before I masked off the front end to prevent overspray and sprayed that bad boy black so it would disappear into the grill.
I have also noticed a lot of you guys have done the same. I was just wondering how you felt.
Change it and take the italian Pony :D

Thanks for all the responses. Just to be clear I like the pony emblem but not in chrome, that's why I painted it to match the grill.
What ever you choose to do enjoy your rides gentlemen.

Since the car I'm getting is all black, the chrome badging on the wheels, back and grille, along with the clear european tail lamps, give it some much needed contrast. I think all black would look a little tacky.

I've got a black GT and I agree with some who said the GT emblem is a little plain, but I actually like the bits of shine that come with the badges, especially the horse. It provides nice contrast with the black. I think making everything all black kind of dates the look a bit, it's not a stealth vehicle and I'm not Batman (no matter how badly I'd like to be) but if you like it, I say go for it.

That being said, I'd love to get the chrome billet grille that was available on last year's Mustang and add an off-center tribar badge (The tribar is my favorite incarnation of the Mustang logo).

I hate chrome but I like the pony:love:

I blacked out both my ponies, the front one is glossy so it gives just enough shine on the grille when the sun hits and I left the back pony Matte since the decklid is already shiny, it gives it a nice contrast.:headbang:

Old School all the way

Well, guess I'm in the Old School minority too.

My Ruby Red 50 Years Edition Vert looks just right to me with a splash of chrome here and there. The pony in the corral on the front reminds me a lot of my 67 Stang.
The chrome on the rear in the tail lights is just fine with me too. And my GT is in the round cap, I like it like that. So, not changing a thing there.

Cheers
