Let's take a vote. The "Post Quotes" silent notification was added recently but I understand some don't like the feature.

Majority of votes will determine whether it stays or goes. I'll keep this open for a week or so.

For more info on this add-on, see here and here.

Nope...

And if it's tied to "Mentions", not interested in that either.

Put it this way - if both of those features didn't rack up "Notification counts", I wouldn't even care - but when it looks as if the user might have inbox messages because the Notification count appears or is racked up - the features just are not value added for me - no offense either. :)

Damn I guess I'm the only one who likes the quotes. I think it's a great feature.

I have to go with "Don't Care".

Just now, my Notifications showed "2". When I clicked the down arrow next to it, I could see that they were both "New Post Quotes". Didn't seem that hard to me.

I see others saying that it makes them think that they have a PM, but looking at that drop-down, it appears that there are 10 things that could prompt a notification. If we eliminate this one, there are still 8 other things in the list which *aren't* a PM.

That said, leave it or take it away. No difference to me.

I like the quotes because the previous forum I was on for years (Ft86club.com) ran with heavier notifications with thanked posts, quoted posts, and mentions. I personally like the quoted posts if someone is asking you a question about something that you may just want to answer in the thread so everyone can see it and not a PM.

Just an example of where quotes are good. Reading is a lost art to expect people to not search like they should.

I like it, I don't browse the forum often enough and it helps keep tabs quickly

Added my vote for no. If I needed to be that in tune with the thread I'm posting in I'll subscribe.
