Ok, all of the sudden, I've been getting notifications on here for every time I quote a thread or if someone quotes one mine.

It's annoying and I don't need to see who quoted me or me quoting someone else. I went into UserCP, and I'm not seeing or maybe missing the feature to turn this type of notification OFF.

Any help??

Cobra Jet - You shouldn't be getting any pop up notifications or emails for Quoted Posts. Is this happening?

It should just show up silently in "Your Notifications" for anyone who chooses to view (or ignore) them.

Yes, they are showing up silently - but I really don't have any interest in accumulating them - and if I just glance at my "Notifications" at the top, it appears as if I have inbox counts, know what I mean?

I'm sure others like the new feature but it's just not for me... Can I turn it AND NOW the "Mentions" off?

Nope. These are global features. If I could allow each person to pick and choose which ones to keep I would, but that is not how they work.

Mentions are here to stay. They have been useful for getting questions answered by vendors or FordService in threads in which their feedback benefits the whole community.

If enough people voice their dislike for the Post Quotes silent notification, we'll consider removing it.

I thought I had accidentally turned them on & went nuts trying to find the off switch.
I find them annoying as well, looks like you have a PM.

LOL so I'm not the only one who noticed this. Not digging that it shows up in my private messages box...

Yes - that's what I thought too, it just shows notification counts and it looks as if you have inbox messages.

I don't like it and now I'm getting them for "Mentions"...

You don’t want to know
Please turn Quotes off. There's no way to tell the difference in Notifications between PMs, which may be important, and Quotes, which are not. Quotes is ridiculously irritating, and wastes the time I allocate to this website.

Thanks.
