I know wrong forum, but I need a quick answer and maximum exposure. My car will be here any day and I need A/S tires to get me through the winter. I really can't afford $1000+ on tires, got any ideas how I can make this work? I asked dealer, they wont swap.
I really hate to be an asshole but if you don't have $1000.00 to spend on tires, can you really afford a ~$40,000.00 vehicle...?

Perhaps rethink the whole thing...

Because most people dont expect to change tires so soon on a brand new car.

Stupid comment considering the fact that you can easily get a premium ecoboost performance package for $30,000

If you finance it might be worth your time to calculate what those tires will cost you with interest over 5 years....
Absolutely. Someone told me Goodyear has 0% interest for a year, that might be an option too

Dealer prices seem to be in line with prices from other tire retailers. OE tires for my Taurus cost the same at the dealer and at Tire Rack.

I recently replaced the tires on my 2010 GT with stock 19" Pirellis. I got a Ford Service credit card and got 18 months same as cash.

If you are planning on getting the all-season version of your tires for your EB, perhaps the dealership can get them for you and put them on after the sale, using the credit card to pay for them. I also got a $130 discount ($80 from Pirelli, $50 from Ford for getting the card and using it to pay for service) on the whole deal.

I didn't want to pay $900 up front for replacement tires on my 2010 since it is going to be traded for the 2015.

The only watchout - make sure that service department doesn't scratch up your wheels. That happened to me, and they wound up repainting all 4 to repair the paint damage the technician did on my custom-painted wheels. That could happen anywhere though.

Good luck!

I just bought some winter tires to go onto the stock rims. They're used, but nearly 100% tread left on all of them. $600 for blizzaks. don't forget to check off sizes, as an example 245/40R19 is only 1-2% off in diameter, but opens up a whole new selection of tires compared to the 255/40R19's and usually fits the same rim.

But, since I knew it was a daily driver and came with summer tires, I budgeted for them ahead of time, but that doesn't keep me from looking for a deal. every penny counts.

That sounds like a good solution, could also try Craigslist or see if your local tire dealer has "used" tires, where someone tried them and did not like them for whatever reason.

Used tires? Definitely another option to look at. All I need would be a set of A/S to get me thru Maryland's tame winters.

buy a second set of wheels and save money.

if you get them 18", the average all-season tire cost is around $30-$40 less each than if you got the same all-season tire for the PP 19's. There are always specials at American Muscle with decent, Mustang specific rims that you can snatch for less than $130. fyi I picked up a nice set for well under $100 each that even clear the GT500 brakes. The rim and tire combined will be roughly 6-8lbs lighter than that of the 19's, so as an added bonus you save almost 30lbs of unsprung weight. Finally you can get the same width tire in 18's, so although the all season compound isnt as grippy as the summers you still have the width.

By the time you go through 3 sets of tires the 18's will have paid for themselves, but you will now have 2 sets of wheels (instead of just the 19's). That is what im doing and Ill just swap the 19's on every so often when I feel like.

(I am assuming this is your DD)
