Check Westley's "Bleche-Wite" it's some pretty strong stuff and definitely doesn't leave your tires brown. Just spray it on a towel and scrub your tires. You HAVE to apply some tire shine or gel afterwards though.

That's old school, reminds me of cleaning the whitewalls on my dad's countless Buicks in the 1980's ;) I had a hard time finding it in the 1990's when I put raised white letter tires on my T-Bird...:D

Wow, noticed this too, thought it was because I kicked up some dust going to my brother-in-law's (one mile of gravel roads to get there).

Unfortunately Westleys no longer makes Bleche White. It was absorbed by Black Magic and is horribly diluted down and doesn't work that great IMO. I just bought some last week and used it on my tires. It needed 3-4 applications and a TON of elbow grease to get my tires looking good. Meguiars D101 looks like some really good tire cleaner and general APC, its foaming and sticks to the tires so it can do its job.

Yep, I do this with every wash. The tires will be completely stripped of all brake dust and grime, leaving fresh rubber to apply shine to.

I just bought a bottle two weeks ago at Walmart in the same bottle. I spray it on heavy while the tire is dry, let it sit, then scrub it with a wet bristle brush, and last rinse.

I can't remember if mine is Black Magic (probably is) but I've had a lot of luck with it. It does take a bit of elbow grease but that doesn't bother me. I just feel safer doing it that way than spraying it on and letting it sit.

You can try Comet. This stuff will work just like the Westleys.

I remember from the Bleche White days that my dad had a scrub brush with copper bristles just for doing the white walls...the tires always came out fantastic.
