^^ what James said. The I8 is a hybrid and being one it can call up power from its small gas engine when needed. It was pretty quick down the straight. Difficult to get a point by from the driver.

Re: PZeros

I dont think they liked being hotter than about 37psi. If you can keep them at or under that they seemed to stick pretty well.

They didnt last long or wear very nicely though (each tread block was shaved at an angle), so I wouldn't really recommend them. That and although the peak grip was pretty good, they didnt break away as nicely as some other tires.
I suspected that might be the case, hence I have invested in track wheels and rubber. Will save the crappy pzeros for the boring street stuff (although they're a danger in the wet - I've never experienced such brutal snap oversteer before).

37 psi on the fronts (255mm) at operating temps is what I found that they like. I use 35 psi on the rears. (275mm)

What I did not experience is each tread block shaved at an angle. The track sessions "shaving" is even across the tire width. I am running Steeda progressives with their sway bars and their custom alignment.

I have noticed is that the wear on the rears is more than on the fronts. I haven't done any burn outs to explain that difference. What have you noticed front/back ?

Oh yeah the rears wore flatter and were done when the fronts still had 30-40% life left. I didnt do any burnouts either.

The front odd wear wasnt that surprising, given how hard I'd been running them at the track.

Edit: pic thread

I've been running them hard also, neutral steer in some drifts, under steer during quick turn ins... You're right though, P-Zeros won't last too long. Being supplied as stock from Ford, I'm somewhat satisfied with the performance. I won't be purchasing them again when the time comes.

Thanks for the reply NightmareMoon.

VIR with Chin Track Days this weekend. They put on a good show.
Nice, man! What kind of times were you running? I have yet to get my GT up to VIR, but plan on doing the grand course in Nov with Track Daze.

Nice! Really wish I could've made it to this event. Heard this was a little mishap with a 458...:(

Dipped down to 2:30 and bounced between 2:30-2:34 my last session. Tried G Loc R10s.....they will be going in the trash when I get home. Zero confidence in them. Had to brake waaaaaay early for T1 and T13 from about 135-140mph. Plus traffic was a bitch. I passed the same Audi TT 3 times in one session. After I finally got a point by. Followed her for a whole lap before she realized I was behind her and wanting to pass. Chin put me in nervous class so I had an instructor with me too. Helped me out a good bit since it was my first time at VIR.

Yes, there was a significant mishap with a 458.

Josh, I sent you a PM. I would like to see if there is anything we can do for you in the braking department. We want to try and help you with the braking issues you experienced. We have several Customers with a lot of laps at VIR.

Did an Auto-X with a local car club yesterday at Sonoma Airport. Ended up being third in class and second fastest Mustang.
