I've had my stainless power headers installed for about a year now, and the alignment of the engine just now started bugging me. I have clearance at the top where the ac bolt was removed but further down along the frame rail one of the primaries is only an 1/8th inch from hitting. I've had false knock in first and the beginning of second since install, and I have the motor pushed as far to the drivers side as possible. I just wanted to see how close others are so I can contact SW/SP with the issue and see if mine were just setup a little off on the jig

Your problem isn't with the headers, its the OEM motor mounts. They sag... I installed BMR's adjustable motor mounts along with my SW LT's so that the motor wouldn't sag and cause rubbing with those garbage OEM motor mounts. I suggest upgrading them, my LT's aren't close to rubbing at all. $120 saves you a headache.

Yea if you look from the bottom you can see where it makes contact. And like I mentioned I have the motor all the way pushed to the drivers side as evidenced by the picture of the mm bolt I posted. I thought of maybe try to loosen the crossmember and clocking the rear of the motor also to the drivers side to change the angle, but I haven't read of anyone having to re align the motor to this extent so I finally thought maybe I just got a bad set.

Thanks for the information, I'll probably order those this week. Mine look about the same as what CeleronXXX posted pics of. I do hear rubbing but only when I make left turns.

Quick question, do these not allow the motor to shift as much, do they raise the motor a little, or both?

I'm wondering how they solve the rubbing issues of SP's LT headers.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Also nice color Celeron, looks like we're building a very similar mustang. How is that ported boss manifold doing? Was thinking of going GT350 but I'm open to options!

The motor mounts are made with Polyurethane Bushings and aluminum spacers. They reduce Engine movement (deflection) so they so add some vibration because the stock motor mounts are soft and were made for comfort. These are adjustable, stock height, 1/4" drop or 1/2" drop. Stock height with the BMR mounts may be slightly higher than the sagging OEM ones.

Alright, hopefully the deflection reduction they add is enough to keep my passenger side collectors from rubbing. Hopefully no damage is done yet... I do see warn paint. Thanks again for the suggestion :)

I'm very happy with it, car pulls much much harder than the stock IM above 6k and I pull all the way to 8k. After first gear it's like 6-8 6-8 6-8 very fun

Just got done installing my SP headers on Friday. My clearance is about the same as the OP. I don't think there's any rubbing going on but I'm going to have to check when making a full turn.

It looks like there might be a little bit of adjustment built into the crossmember, I think I'm going to try a combination of adjusting that, the BMR motor mounts suggested and wrapping the headers so if I do have contact it's not a metal on metal clang to avoid knock.

Stupid question, but how do you know you have false knock?

I have these headers and all is good, not even close to the bolt on the passenger side that folks had issues with...can get pics if you need when i go to the shop to do my grill soon

E85 helps to narrow it down, but I figured it out by logging pulls differently. I never had an issue with the a/c bolt, my issue is with the primary below cyl#1 primary, the one that kicks out way down in the pic.
