I dont see how it could cause any harm to the dash. It fits in between the crevices tightly with support from the top and the bottom. Mine has been on for almost a year and there is no sign of any issues. My iPhone 11 Pro max with a case sits on it daily and its been doing just fine

I just wondered if over time it might cause a blemish on the dash surface from any vibrations, fading around it that would result in a dark stripe once removed, or causing distortion to the plastic dash parts from the tension? I'd hate to have prospective buyers walk away because of any of the above scenarios, or take a hit on trade-in, etc.

With you being in southern California (more sunny days and driving time than northern Illinois), if you haven't noticed any of the above, then it sounds safe. Thanks for the info!

Yeah I dont think either of those are going to be a problem. Lots of people are using it and I've never heard a complaint about it.
If that does become an issue, the dash panel is easily replaced. Used ones are all over eBay for fairly cheap

Add the mounting base to your cart and then it gives you an opportunity to select the appropriate device holder for your phone. The appropriate device holder attaches to the mounting base. I don't have one, but I was considering giving it a try.

My only concern is if it will cause any damage, disfigurement, or any other issues to the dash with long-term use?

I’ve had a ProClip phone mount on my coupe for almost 4 years, zero issues. Bought a second one for the convertible too.

I like this mount but would like to know if the price includes the phone mount? The website is little unclear about this.

I paid $123 for the mount with the small table universal holder (I swap between phones frequently) and am quite happy with it. The only frustration I'm working to resolve is since the base isn't completely vertical, it has about a 15° tilt up, the phone holder portion only has limited maneuverability when aiming straight. To correct this I'm having a small triangle of plastic being printed by a friend (I was just gonna shim it, but my friend is having too much fun with his 3d printer and offered to make it for me) so that the phone holder portions centered position is vertical so that I can aim it better toward me.

It clips to the metal trim on the dash where your round vents are, why wouldn't it work with B&O sound?

The images I am seeing show the top of the base mount going into the vent opening of the standard stereo center channel grill. The B&O center channel doesn‘t have this “vent-like “ opening. It’s more of a smooth mesh.

In this case I hope the pro clip images are misleading and that it would work, because I really like the mount.

I recently bought a Course Motorsports phone mount. I got just the bracket and mounted a ram ball on it so i could use one of the many phone holders that I use on my motorcycles. This involved Getting a ram ball with mount stud, cutting off the stud and tapping a hole to fit the Course Motorsports bracket. I used a star lock washer to keep the ball from rotating. I have a Performance Pack car with the base stereo. I couldn’t see spending 1800 to upgrade my stereo to sync 3. So I replaced my speakers with Infinity Kappas and through Forscan took out the cutoff. Now with the Kappas the sound is pretty good, my phone is mounted where I can see it and I don’t need synch 3. The bracket does wiggle a little bit but that was kept to a minimum by using a shot ram arm.

Recently completed my custom install (based on the "DirectFit" phone mount), and I gotta say..

Easily the sturdiest, cleanest, most-minimal phone mount I've ever had! Not bad for $10, and literally supports ANY mount or device you'd want.

Mine was made to work with the iOttie iTap2 wireless magnetic charger, and I couldn't be happier.

Happy to break down the materials ($5 brass billet + $5 universal 17mm GPS ball mount), but it's fairly straightforward / non-destructive, and uses only stock hardware.

Did I mention it's clean?

I'll do a full write-up if people are interested. I can probably draw up a template, as well.

I have one of these tiny magnetic mounts that sticks onto the dash right in between and slightly below 2 of the air vents in the middle (or the pp gauges). It holds the phone very well, and it's pretty inconspicuous when not in use.

Likewise. It treats well, but you may not want to get one with just a magnet if you deal with bumpy roads. Some down this way can knock it down into the tray area.

I believe some exist with an easy to mount physical lock (and a puck to stick on the back of your phone/case) that'd get the best of both worlds.
