the '66' plates will no doubt be popular with Mustang owners when released in September, and they'll come as standard!
Good call :) US66 MUS

316mm would include the margins, which still puts it almost 1/2" out for the US 12 X 6" size, which is a shame as you could get it in a nice surround otherwise.
I respectfully disagree :)
5 characters x 50 mm = 250 mm
3 spaces between characters x 11 mm = 33 mm
1 space between groups x 33 mm = 33 mm
2 margins x 11 mm = 22 mm
--------------------------
Grand total of 338 mm.

Myself, I'm going for A1 AAA format, as I really want 12x6 plates on my Mustang.

I'd seen 'SM57 ANG' 'SM 57ANG' which set my heart alight, but it's a slightly illegal plate after respacing, and, I don't want people thinking my car is a '57' plate...
Re spacing & people thinking it's a 57 plate? Buy it you banana! That is a perfect plate for you. Who gives a fuck if the spacing is off...if you care about people thinking you have a 57 plate then maybe the stang isn't for you ;) As Lone Survivor detailed so well the other day, when you own a Mustang you just don't give a shit about what anyone else thinks - that is the law :ford:

Mine was my 21st bday present + my initials "T21 KGR" don't ask me what the T is for lol, but I love it

If I can get away with the respacing (SM 57ANG) then i'm buying it, I just don't want the police all up in my sh1t about it, I know I'll need to buy SM 57ANG and SM57 ANG plates for the MOT as it can fail with respaced plates, i'll just have to interchange them.

Think now i'm not wrapping I wont get pulled for the respaced plates?

F15 TEM*

That's never happening, the second I showed my Brothers and their girlfriends and got a reaction that was 'Are you a Homo?' 'Why do you want to be Fisted' etc... Swiftly wiped it out of the running.

Oi, less of that :(!

If you can find me a plate that's of reasonable price and looks the business, that doesn't need a re space, more than happy to take that, lol!

Is the spacing between groups required? The DVLA booklet on guidelines only specifics a space between the age marker.

I'm pretty sure it is. The booklet seems to only cover current format numbers, not prefix-style numbers.

I say go for it......with a caveat

keep legal plates in your boot, you will potentially get pulled on the spacing, although Police today are stretched enough and gone are the days of cops pulling people for the smallest of traffic offences (not to say it won't happen)

If your stopped, apologise, let them ogle your car, show and tell them you'll change the plates back ASAP - It will take a harsh cop to ticket you!, plus they won't want the paperwork headache..! (the worst is a minor ticket with no points)

Repeat again....lol
