So right now my Mustang is still bone stock and I'm loving it. I've done everything from a thousand mile road trip to weekly drag racing. The car is beautifully balanced from the factory.

However since racing I've been wanting to get some mods to improve my times. Mainly I was thinking the power pack stage 3 that adds the 350 intake manifold etc. Also I think I want a 275 summer tire setup.

Would those mods ruin any of the drivability or touring elements of my car? I don't really care about MPG but I do care about overall comfort and the ability to drive 3000 miles in a week without engine trouble.

Thanks!

You will lose your low end torque with the voodoo manifold

Im going to say it will actually improve the driving experience. Since your a drag racer the top end power of the power pack will really be noticed.

From the dynos I have seen, you don't loose any. It's just that everything you gain is up top.

You are correct, I was wrong
It's all good. It seems to be a common misconception. There is no negative in upgrading besides warranty concerns. It may not add the lower end torque that the pp 1 and 2 add, but for those that car about overall performance, pp3 is by far the best option.

I have the 350 IM and 275's all around. Definitely no engine problems, at least so far. No running rough, no codes, and no flat spots throughout the rpm range. Now a lot of that is the tune also, and like bluebeastsrt had said, it improved my driving experience, mostly above 5,000rpm's or so. After that it really pulls. I lost almost no lower rpm torque or driveability. Nothing will be ruined for any driving you want to do.

Question- if you add headers and an exhaust think you'd see a little bump in low end with pp3?

Go with a email tune from a reputable shop. It is a night and day improvement.

Whitey, are you still using the stock throttle body with that manifold?

I'm not entirely sure...I haven't seen any dyno with them all bolted up.

Hasn't Ford released 3different Power Packs that don't void the cars warranty?

Might be worth looking into.

Yes, almost all three. From what I've read, the PP3 isn't available yet. If I'm not mistaken, maybe sometime next month it will be released for purchase.

End of October is what I've been told by my dealer.
