there is a pp thread like two below already and this is 400th time this has been asked.

in a dd environment you'll hardly notice any difference between 3.55 and 3.73 if you are shifting correctly to get any mpg what so ever. always shifting at low rpms no matter what gearing you got unless you want 12mpg. you get the better radiator too.

in regards to the ride, it's a tad stiffer because it has different springs but we all end up lowering the car anyways. don't let the girly men around here tell you other wise about pp being harsh, it most certainly is no where harsh. NO WHERE.

plus the cool gauges you get for the looks.

I wouldn't own the car without pp but that's me. pp is a good deal.

downside is, auto doesn't get pp... which is still silly...but i guess because pp is meant for road course and that's why. it's not really a big difference overall on the feel but it's a cheap package with a lot of additions.

I bought my GT/PP in June of 2015, I daily it,(around 80 miles) It now has 10,500 miles on it. My only complaint is the summer tires. I just put on a set of BFG comp 2 all seasons and I love them. Wish the car had come with them. The Pirellis where toast after 10K and I didn't beat on the car. I wouldnt buy the car without the performance pack.

Ignore that fender gap, BMR springs will be here tomorrow. :)

Two things... first gear is almost useless, sixth gear is almost useless... other than that, the car is perfect.

I find the Performance Pack suspension most disagreeable!!

I think he meant its not LSD with clutches and special diff fluid
That's irrelevant. It is still an LSD. That's all my point was to the OP.

The only thing I don't like about the PP are the tires, they suck. If I could do it all over again, I would have sold them from the beginning and bought better tires.

Other than that, you get a ton for what you pay for.

I prefer the 3.73 for city driving compared to the 3.31. Seems to keep in the power easier. And I can use 5th in the city no problem.
I don't even think you can stall this car with the 3.73s unless you were really trying lol.

There are a couple of parallel threads going, but the PP makes a great DD, with the following caveat... be very careful with the summer-only tires. The car drives well in all seasons, but the tires don't love cold weather or slippery surfaces. I love mine and PP was a must-have. Good luck!

If I lived in colder climates, I'd run summers year round. Less grip makes it way easier to drift around corners. But in Texas, I run low rolling resistance A/S, and I can really drift in those

I was originally going to get the PP and recaro seats,
until I heard a couple stiff suspension comments.
that and the recaro seats manually adjust.

Not as young as I used to be so got the GT premium with 20 wheels, came with 3.55
Just right for me.

But then you need to decide what's important for you

DD mine. It's my first RWD car. First manual transmission car. First car with over 250HP.

Couple take-aways so far (owned it since August):
1. Ride is very stiff compared to econoboxes or pretty much any 'normal' car. Non-PP cars feel like they're on marshmallows, PP feels like it's on rocks. I don't have the recaros, didn't like them because they hugged my back and hips too much for a comfortable daily driver.
2. Summer tires really are terrible in cold weather. My drive to work is 1.4 miles, which isn't enough time to warm up the tires. There are enough turns though that I have to be careful not to throw the rear end out. Feels like driving on ice, especially on wet mornings. (I'm in FL... so up north might be significantly worse unless you get winter tires)
3. Gas mileage is really bad for short city drives (again, 1.4 miles to work x 6 days a week = 8mpg). But that's not why we buy this car. Smiles per gallon are infinite.
4. Wet/Snow mode is really good for wet nasty weather in city driving. Tames the throttle response and makes it much safer.
5. Headlights are bright, but they seem to have a cut-off point much too low. This is my first car with projectors though, so I may not be used to it. When driving on even slightly hilly roads, can't see more than 10 feet in front of the car when headed down then up hills.

People talk about first gear being very short with the 3.73. While it's true, starting in second solves that problem. 2-4-5 shifting while in the city will keep the noise level down and be much smoother than 1-2-3-4-5. Sixth is pretty much for 65mph+.
