Well....

The electronics and wheel hop are super frustrating. LOL

13.5
13.4
13.3
13.2....then the track closed.

I learned a lot. Much MUCH different than my auto car that's for damn sure! For those who have gone 12s in a 100% stock PP car I have some serious respect!
my bud invited me to go to the drags with him. he has a 17 ss camaro. very nice car that he bought to be a track car. i have never raced on a drag track. no idea! I always thought that the gt pp pack was a track car.....not really a drag car?

my opinion, but I am not positive, as I have an A6.... b/c I wanted a quicker Stang from
the git GO.... and not have to replace clutch, have car feel loose after I rag on it.

anyway, I read DON'T put it is track mode, b/c it actually stiffens up suspension for
race track, not really drag strip.

so, Sport mode, if you have that?
AdvanceTrac all the way off
go around the water, and back down near it.
I let a stick roll back toward the water, then pop the clutch in 2nd on burnouts.
burn it for about 3-4 seconds at most, so you don't get the tires greasy.
Then, shallow stage, and pre-load the clutch as to not shock the drive train/tires.

If you can grab some 1.9 60fts.... you should click off some 12.9s. Good Luck.
Interesting that you don't know how the car works

In the PP car I did the best with a somewhat short burnout, Launch control/traction control on, set to 3500, slip the clutch a bit slowly letting it out. 26 psi in stock Pirellis. Somewhat easy shift 2nd, or it would blow the tires off again. Was able to manage a 1.92 60'

I had my first ever go at drag racing at weekend, I need practice. Best I managed was a 13.3@111mph. Car is a GT PP M6 with 3.55 traction lok. I've got suspension mods and have JDM tune/PMAS CAI, but its a UK car so it has crippled headers, so it is around 450BHP crank/flywheel so around 385 at the wheels.

Is a 13.3@111mph pretty reasonable? I had 3 goes:
14.2@107
13.5@109
13.3@111

My best 60ft was 2.3s, I have Michelin MPSS (275/40/19) and the car seemed to hook well but I was soft launching at 2000rpm and I am not the fastest guy at changing gear with a stick as I don't want to break anything. Plus my car as Steeda splitter and GT 350 track spoiler which might not help in 1/4. I was also doing it on stock tyre pressures (32psi) and I had a full tank of fuel and I was not doing any kind burn out.

Do you guys think I can go faster in my car?

When you say you used LC at 3500 and let clutch out slowly, how slowly are we talking and did you keep your foot to the floor on the gas pedal?

I didn't run much without the lund tune but slipping the clutch slightly was the key to get off the line without spinning or bogging. Just throw a tune and tires on the car and run 11's. I went 11.82 @116 with JLT, lund tune and 19" drag radials.

I assume you power shift the car? I went out to get a nice an easy baseline that I would easily replicate for future tests and the car ran well but I can tell my shift points and granny shifting hurt the time (my "normal" quick shift is actually very fast, just maybe a hair slower than power shifting). The car ran a 12.222 @ 115 with a 1.65 60. It has 11's all over it, just need to go back out and beat on it, maybe stretch my shift points out a bit too. I have a new intake so maybe I can run it to 7800 now:cool:

Actually on that run I was not power shifting. I just started doing it and it shaves a couple more tenths off your runs. Keep us informed about the new intake.

With the 3.73 you will want to get out of first quickly (6-6100) . With the 3.73 you will still be at 5k after the shift . All my fastest times are done short shifting the 1-2

I find this interesting.

Usually, you always want to stay in first gear as long as possible, because your acceleration rate in 1st gear will always be higher than anywhere else....even after power starts to drop, because of the force to the tires from the torque multiplication.

It has definitely worked well for you. I am going to play around with this stuff and see what I figure out.

To add, I ended up taking first gear as high as I could on street tires because shifting under 6700ish made the wheel hop much worse on the 1-2 shift.

You might be right on street tires because I was having a big problem with traction shifting to second. On drag radials and slicks it runs 1-2 tenths quicker shifting early.

I think the increase in ET is due to the 2nd gear not spinning as much after the shift . If I shift the 1-2 at max power , it hits the tires to hard with the 3.73s and just spins . When I short shift it allows less tire slip while still being in a position for max acceleration . I came up with these shift points by datalogging my OSS and monitoring wheel spin . I still have around 2 tenths in wheelspin through the whole run .

You have done a great job maximizing your ET. I am hoping to get mine down a bit more. I went an 11.6 Sunday and next time at the track I will have 28x18 MH skinnies. I hope this helps with how the car feels on slicks. It sways bad with the stock fronts on slicks.
