I'm looking to pick a set of Forgestar D5 (17x10) for the rear. For the front I'm debating between a 17x7 and a 17x10. I will be running nitto 555r2 305/45r17 in the rears and a regular street tire (like a nitto 555g2) for the front. I have read that you do not want a large tire in the front because there is a possibility of over correcting when the car breaks loose (I have a vortech pushing 700 wheel). I fear that a 17x7 will be too small for taking highway turns over 80 mph. I am not planning to take any corners fast but I don't want to break every time I see a corner on the highway.

So I am stuck in the middle.

Are the 17x7 too small for daily driving? (I know people have daily driven with front runners but they are not actually "safe" for daily usage)
Are the 17x10 fronts too big for drag racing?

Thank you for any input on the subject

F14s, but did 17x10 and 17x7, street driven no issues at 80mpg on corners. I don't go into corners rated for 30 at 80, but normal highway driving (well maybe a little bit fast) no issues. I didn't want runners but wanted to save a little weight, good compromise for a street car. I am running the tires you are planning on running.

I had 800 wheel. Ran 235 up front on a 17x7 and a 325 out back on the 17x10.5 F14s. I assume the specs are the same for the forgestar F14s as the D5. That set up worked well on the street & at the drag strip.
