I have forward collision warning on my Mustang and love it. It was not an option I planned on getting but my local dealer found me this car for less money than a nearly identical car without it due to the Blue Tag event savings.

I'd have to see this in action... I was skeptical about the collision system, but mine works darn well.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until tested.

Interesting to see how it works in the city... some people are on the curb and then step off/into the road since they know you won't go over that far.

And a malfunction of this system could be deadly.

Pedestrian Protection is the politically correct way of saying Heat Seaking Aiming System.
PC garbage, lol. Next, we'll get a warning from the car's readout informing us of infractions made against "climate change" after a spirited drive ...

Sad.

But such things are not federally mandated, so they'll just be options.

Nothing to freak out over.

Really? This is what sells cars today? Good lord.

You know what the best Pedestrian Protection system is? A loud horn and a heavy bumper. If you're stupid enough to walk out into traffic then you get everything that's coming to you. It's called self preservation. If you don't got it, you don't get it.

Remember when "Jaywalking" used to be a crime? You know, in the 20's when the term was coined, calling someone a "Jay- anything" was akin to calling someone a "f**k-tard" today. It was a very derogatory term.
