My passenger window just started to go up and down about half an inch, about 6 or 8 times when I closed the door, then did it again today without opening the door or touching the window switch.

Any ideas.

Well known problem. Pull the door panel and unplug the window motor, blow it dry and hope it stays fixed.

I had the same exact issue before and repaired it but I'm facing it again.

You'll need some alcohol and q-tips to tackle this problem.

Unplug your negative cable on your battery, take off your door panel and unplug the window motor harness. You'll need to put some alcohol on the end of the q-tip and wipe off all of the prongs in the wire harness as best as you can (Be very careful and gentle to prevent from bending the prongs). I highly recommend 3 rounds of wiping them off and let them dry to give them a decent scrubbing. After your done test it out to see if it works as expected.

Another thing that I highly recommend that I'll also be doing myself is putting some dielectric grease on the surrounding area of the harness and on the outer parts of the wire on the back side of the harness. The goal is to make it water proof as much as you can so you can possibly prevent it from happening again.

If this doesn't work, the only other option would be to replace the window motor.

If you have been doing repair work for a long time you learn short cuts. The motor can be changed without removing the regulator. The motor is held on to the regulator with 3 bolts. If you take a drill or a tin snips you can trim enough of the door brace to get a socket on the top bolt. This in no way harms or reduces the strength of the brace. You are not removing much.

First remove the speaker, unbolt motor and it fits through the speaker opening. Install new motor and as long as you didn't move the window the regulator will be synced up. re-install speaker and door panel.

Last one I did took 30 min start to finish and I shot the shit with the cars owner so probably 15 min of actual work.

Well, for me the PITA was the three separate trips I had to make to the dealer before it occurred in front of them and they agreed to replace it under warranty.
