Anyone else have this issue? I mostly ignore this by turning up the radio but it's driving me nuts these days. When there's a passenger i don't hear it

I've taken some videos, can be heard more clearly on headphones

You can adjust the backrest on more leaned angle(if I remember correctly) and that should help out with the noise..anyway play with the angle of the backrest and see if it helps....it’s almost comical how finicky these cars are :D

same sound here.. though in my car i belive this is the seat warmer/cooler.. i have not had the seat apart yet to check but i think its a wire/cable tapping on something.

when i press on the back of the seat (the square shape in the seat back, where the cooler/heater unit is) the sound will go away, when i dont press there, i get rattle, again then i press on the back of the seat where the heater/cooler unit is, sound stops..

edit: me driving down the street near the house, about 15mph.. the video depicts a typical drive to work, 15-20 min each way of this, constantly....

i've been chasing this noise since almost 2 years when I purchased the car lol. I thought it was from dashboard, glovebox, ac vent, door, underneath the car etc. Finally isolated it to the passenger seat. I took a look underneath and added some tape in few places but i still can't figure out where it's coming from...

Let me know if you have any luck. I'm also thinking it must be some wire cable tapping on something. Can you share a pic of where you're pressing it to make it go away ? I just press firm on the middle of the seat or have a passenger, it goes away. But i rarely have a passenger, so this sound is annoying

im not sure when i will be able to take the seat apart, might be a while..

i took a pic this morning of the seat back, where i press with the palm of my hand, and the noise will stop.. you may have to feel around a bit but once you place your hand here, you will feel the seat cooler/warmer unit underneath the perforated leather.

EDIT:
a few pictures of the internals in the first post of this 110 page thread on seat coolers, https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/cooled-seats-not-cooling.23384/
some of the pics in that thread are old, 2015-16 models, ford has done some changes since then.. we now have what is refereed to as the "sock design".. so if you see that mentioned, thats referring to our units

and some more info here: https://seatguru.wixsite.com/fordseatfix
im not sure if these "fixed parts" still fit our seat design or not. but im also looking at, while i have the seat covers off to fix the rattle, increasing the cooling/heating of the seat back. kind of a '2 birds with 1 stone' thing for me

i also had some more pics of the seat, with covers off, showing the components but i cant find that website any longer.. im sure it will pop up eventually

im also not convinced this rattle isnt coming from something underneath the seat.. there is A LOT of stuff under there.. anyone of these connectors, wires, harness, ties, modules, etc, could be the cause of the rattle

so my car was at the dealer for 3 weeks for getting the shift forks replaced, i showed them the seat creaking noise videos. The service advisors reply is hilarious, he says 'every Mustang does it, and you're lowered blah blah'. He suggested to try adjusting the seat in different positions which I did and also placed something in the back pocket, didn't help. I'm convinced it's coming from something underneath the seat but there's lot of stuff so it's really hard to pinpoint where it's coming from...

i have a old wire ring type of sun shade that i fold up and put in the passenger seat back pocket, then move the passenger seat all the way back so the front edge of the back seat presses into the passenger seat back just a little. this is enough pressure to stop the rattling..

works for the time being.. until the weather cools down and i can pull out the seat

but yes, given how much "stuff" is under there, it could be literally anything rattling..

EDIT: and yes, i love their replies.. "every other mustang does this"... so in some twisted reality, that means its ok..

I put a apple AirPods box (small) in the pocket and it stopped my rattle.

I posted in the other thread, but on my 2020 the feet of the seat where they mount to the car was causing a creak/tick, for me from the front right bolt. I took a lot of parts apart to end up finding this was the spot.

I put some thin foam padding with an adhesive back around the edges where the seat meets the floor, and re-torqued it down. It really did fix my creak.

I’ve got the same problem. I’ve had it at Ford dealer twice. First time I went to the dealer, I had a tech watch me push the side plastic where the controls are located. I pushed in and it creaks. He put his hand underneath the seat and grabbed stuff until it stopped. He put some zip ties around things. I came back later and got the car. It didn’t make noise that afternoon. I got up the next morning to leave for work at 6 am. It was creaking and popping as I drove. I’ve got videos with sound showing problem. I’ve got video of me pushing on seat with the sound. Ford could care less. They can’t duplicate it when they drive. Say they will take seat out and check things.

I know that it only makes noise when it’s cooler outside. When I slide my seat way up until the side bolster presses against the center console it stops making noise when I push on the seat or side plastic. It’s driving me crazy.

dude I can almost promise you it’s the feet of your seats where it’s bolted to the car. This is the exact noise I chased. Only really happened to me when pressure was on the seat. I thought it came from the back, I removed all that side plastic cladding and eventually tracked it down to the front seat bolt to the floor.

my solution was unbolt it, raise seat and put some adhesive thin foam padding around the edges, rebolt to 35lb torque.

The sound in your video is so exact to what mine is I’m sure this will help.

My guess is the entire seat is mounted a bit too far forward and some metal contacts under stress that normally shouldn’t.

Thanks, I've seen your post in another thread and wanted to give it a try. I have to find the tool to unscrew that bolt, do you remember what size Torx bit that you used to remove it? interesting thing is mine happens only when there's no pressure on the seat. If there's a passenger on the seat it doesn't do it.
