Hey guys,

I'm at my wits end here on this one. I've had this rattle in the rear passenger side near the C pillar for weeks now. I've gone and done the previously posted remedies for the airbag cylinder but I do not think it is originating from that (sound seems farther back). The sound happens regardless if the C pillar cover is on or not. I've also checked in trunk where there are all of those cables but I don't think it is that either. Everything is pretty immovable.

I've noticed it is more prevalent if the car has been sitting for a day or to. Not sure if that means it could be suspension related.

The video where it is pointed at the sky is on the parcel shelf between the plastic car seat mount and the back passenger seat.

I hate to bother with NVH issues but man is it annoying on a new car haha. Appreciate any insight.

I had a very similar issue on a 2001 where the body shop had to remove the back glass as it was rubbing against the sheet metal. Hope you get this resolved!

Yeah the sounds match up but when I move it by hand you can't hear the sound. I'm assuming it has to be under load to hear it better?
Yeah, it might not creak moving it by hand. It's the vertical loading of the rear end that is causing it. I'll be attempting to fix mine while the car is in storage but won't be able to verify the results until spring.

Thankfully the rear glass looks good with a gap all the way around.

Okay because in that one video it sounded like you could hear it but I'm assuming he was riding in the trunk when it was recorded haha. I've got the car at the dealer today for tires so I had them check the rear suspension connections/bushings to make sure those were correct and properly lubricated just in case.

The thing that is annoying is it sometimes stops altogether and comes back randomly so it's hard to say "Hey listen to this."

From where I recorded the sound it was right around the middle of the C-pillar near the wheel well. It certainly seems like its lining up with that creaking weld issue. Could also be where the seat belt is based on the other thread I saw.

I'll talk to the service department when I pick it up today to relay the concern and see what they say.

Keep us informed of what they find hopefully it's an easy fix.

I'm going in a completely different direction with this. Assuming there's no passenger with you, is the seat belt in the empty seat turned around so the metal part of the buckle is vibrating against the hard plastic of the trim? Mine does that occasionally and it's irritating as hell.

Certainly not that, it's too high up. I'd be remiss if it was that haha.

I talked to the service manager at the dealer I've been taking to and they haven't worked on this particular issue before. He said they'd give it a whirl though if it persists. I might shove something in there in the meantime and see if it helps at all then persue a permanent (warrantied) solution.

Hope so too. Id prefer it be always happening rather than intermittent. Makes this a pain to fix haha.
Flip the seats down. Then drive it. You'll hear it worse than ever. At least that's how it is on my car.

I had a rattle that was more in the b pillar but wanted to mention it just in case as car acoustics can be weird!
Mine was from the seat belt retractor (front right seat belt). You can verify if it's this easily by pulling the belt quickly so it locks when you hear the rattle, this should make it stop.
