So when I drive I like keep my legs spread and so my right leg touches the center console. My parking brake is basically a hair pin trigger, and if I ever so slightly push on it, it 'engages'. By engages I mean makes an annoying, dinging notification pop up in the center console. But the worst part is when I'm cruising it kicks me out of cruise control.

Is it actually causing any wear on the brakes? Is there an easy way to fix it? Should I take it to the dealer?

There's a known issue with the cable getting a little loose and the handle doesn't get pulled all the way down, and then it floats right around the switch for the light to just barely come on.

Take it to the dealer and have then tighten it up. Should be a quick job, and under warranty.

Just confirming Evil Minion's post. Dealer went ahead and tightened the parking brake for me. Yup, under warranty. If it really bothers you that much then you will be glad you went back to your dealer to get it straightened out.
