Painting Headlights..

How did you reseal your housings? I want to do a few mods to the running lights but I'm worried about messing up the housings.

RTV 100 series.

I also put RTV on the outside all around just to make sure.

Didn't have to competely take the bumper off to get lights out. Saved me so much time.

While at it I adjusted my horns. OMG! sounds like a train horn. I also turned down the double honk while the car is on with keys outside.

Wait, hold up...adjusted the horns to make them louder? Did you just move them around or did you actually change something to make them "honk" louder?

And you can turn the double-honk thing off with FORSCAN.

I used small 10mm ratchet and put my hand through the opening and opened it.

No. You have an adjustment screw on the horn that you turn to adjust the noise. It is located under the white rtv.

It is around 40% louder now. I love it.

After 3 hrs of cursing and heating finally comes off.

Right or left to make it louder? How many turns did you dial in on yours?

It took me around 30min to get it where I want it. If i remembe correctly clockwise is to get it louder. Keep on trying and you will figure it out. Both of the horns have the adjustment screw.

When done, re seal it with rtv.

Something tells me the wife and neighbors wouldn't approve of me blasting the horn in the garage for 30 minutes while it gets progressively louder lol. New headlights arrive today so I should have pics this weekend.

One almost done. Time to re seal it. I am moving very slow.

The blue is actually more darker and matches my painting. I tried 3 different cans before I made my decision.


Btw, my hands got stabbed/cut 5 times. Lol
