Mustangers:

My Mustang came with a pre-attached Ford front bracket. Having a black bracket on a white bumper was bothersome.

I purchased 1 spray can each of Oxford White paint and flexible plastic primer from Automotive Touchup Inc. Using the enclosed scotchbrite pad, I sanded down the plastic then applied liberal coats of plastic primer (used mostly on bumpers) and white paint. Please ignore the black spots on the pictures-for some reason, they appeared. They are not there in real life.

Then, I used a can of their clear coat, applied several coats, and lightly buffed with a polishing compound.

For someone with zero bodywork training, I like the results.

My used black bracket is available if you are interested in trying this. PM me offline.

Thanks

So glad Tennessee doesnt issue front plates. Ruins the whole look of the front end for me.

Looks much better. I just took mine off, I'll take the ticket.

If only there was a cool way to cover the holes!

I remember reading on another forum that there are small plugs at Home Depot that someone used to fill the holes. After sanding and painting, the look was excellent.

Wish I remember more than that-but that might get you pointed in the right direction.

I'll add "paint the front license plate holder" to my to-do list, when the weather gets warm again. Thanks for the idea.
