Just as I thought every issue I had with my car was sorted I've gone and got a b4st4rd stone chip on my bonnet. Looked online and there are so many different products that will supposedly "fix" chips but thought I'd ask on here if anyone has had chips in their paint, what did you use, how good at hiding it is it and where's the best/ cheapest place to get it from? Cheers.

Unless you can remove the ever so slight 'dent' a stone chip inevitably leaves, it'll always be noticable in certain lights. I got a stone chip on my first drive as well about 1cm in length. I got a typical paint stick and slowly layered the paint up then added a couple of coats of laquer, it's hardly noticable - but it did take me about 4-6hours to do it lol.

People bough dr colour chip, but I have NO idea how good that is at covering chips. And nobody really reviewed it Ian whu had it but i dont think he ever used it.

I always use the local chipsaway guy. Always does a great job. it's a franchise can't vouch for your local one. Not free though...

Great if you have less time or patience than Manders

The yanks seem to favour dr colour chip but like you say steve probably still be noticeable. Probably end up ÄŁetting a pro to fix it unless I can find something that'll hide it at least 99%.

If it's on the front, i'd cover it as best u can, and repaint when more inevitably come, unless you plan on a clear bra on the front.

Not sure what to do. I noticed it as it was getting dark so only looked at it under my phone light which always makes it look worse. After getting the stripes done, a full paint correction and ceramic coating only last week for this to happen has really pissed me off. Will have a look in the morning and decide then. Does the clear bra totally stop paint chips?

I have suffered a few chips. The paint seems to be so thin on these cars.

I got a chip stick from ford and invested in a heat gun. Then using cocktail sticks and a lot of care I did as manders did and built up layers. Thankfully the three I've repaired have been on or near lips so not too noticeable.

This is making me feel like shit. I think I would be suicidal if I followed that advice.

I got the touch-up set from Ford, best bit was that the dealer gave it to me for free.

Have you had to use it yet? If so what was the finish like?
Duller than stock paint, needs 2+ layers of laquer to properly gloss it back up, fortunately the set comes with laquer ;)!

Check your wheel well. I've got one in the paint facing the wheel.
