Hell... those pads are more corroded than the Titanic.

How old is the car... that looks abnormal to me?
Tell me about it! Picked it up September 2016, done 7k miles and don't live by the sea or park in puddles!

Any old shite.
Its always a good thing to strip and grease brakes on a new car. They are installed dry from the factory and the dealers generally don't strip brakes until 20-30k miles. By that point the pads are seized in the carriers and the chances are the discs are buggered because they are stuck.
You will get much more life out of everything if its greased and moving freely, plus better brake pedal feel.
