I've searched and don't see anything related for a stock car.
2018 Ecoboost 72k miles, completely stock. CEL came on yesterday showing P0420 Bank 1 catalyst efficiency below threshold.
It's had a bit of a rough idle lately but otherwise is behaving normally. I only run 93 but, due to the pipeline thing, had to put one tank of 87 in it two tanks ago.
From what I've read it is most likely either the cat or the O2 sensor(s). 72k seems early to me for either to be bad but??? On the live data the O2 sensors seem to be cycling between 0.98v and 0.14v which is what I thought they are supposed to do.
My current thought is to run a bottle of CAT cleaner through in before I start swapping parts. Then O2 sensors and hope it doesn't come to getting a CAT, those things are pricey.
Am I on the right track? Any thoughts or experience with P0420?
Thanks
