Spotted a Ruby Red Vert this morning traveling in the opposite direction at North Gosford on the Central Coast. Caught part of the number plate (personalised plates starting with the initials TL)
Then later in the morning passed a White Vert with the stripes package heading westbound on the Central Coast Highway at Erina. Was not in mine both times.

Hi Ann, that would be me, finally plucked up enough courage to take the beast to Fountain Gate. I drove around for a while and found a spot at the back of the Myers car park, no one near me when I parked and returned.:headbonk:
What's the big deal about shopping centre car parks? You get a ding, you pay $150 to get a paintless dent repairer out. Not the end of the world.

I'd rather spend that $150 on beer.

Hahahah if only it was that simple. Depends where the ding is, what if it's on the edge of the body, not so easy just to suck out. Then there is very easily the paint being chipped by the ding, then your stuck with touch up paint which never looks the same

Well, the ding is likely to be on the door as a result of someone opening their door into yours. These are the easiest ones to get out. As for the paint being chipped from a ding - never happened to me in my 16 years of driving, and I've had quite a few dings in that time.

Must have been lucky, a higher up 4wd (most likely a soccer mom and her annoying kids) open the door it hits up near the edge of the window or something like. I've copped a few and paint has been removed in such an example.

It's just better to avoid carparks or find single vehicle spots only

Amazingly I've been driving for sixteen years as well (born in '82) and have never had to have a ding pulled out from shopping centre carparks and all i do is just walk a little extra from the back where its safe:cheers:

Love it. I was exactly the same (still am) when I take mine to the shops as she's my daily drive.

Well I have been driving for 132 years and never had a ding...:lol::lol:

Haha... Some people couldnt give a shit and thats ok, life is all about choices. For me, I too have never experienced a ding from a car park but I am that guy who looks for the spot of least likelyhood.

A ding is one thing, but a paint chip could result in a blend repair and thats not good at all. :headbonk:

Well I got a paint chip from a ding in the first week of ownership of my Mustang, so there ya go!

Was still a bit of light coloured paint left on the Mustang from whatever f..khead SUV it was that opened their back door onto me too.

And I'm a careful parker...

Whilst this is usually the way to go, there often seems to be that "one guy" (driving a shitter) who, for no other reason than to mess with your head, goes out of their way to park right next to you.

It's also good practice to avoid parking next to anything that has child seats in the back.

The one and only time someone dinged the door of my previous car, a Ford Mondeo, it was on the horizontal crease an inch below the window cracking the paint ever so slightly. It didn't look like much but couldn't be repaired back to how it was, so cost me my excess of $600 as the whole door shell needed replacing and spraying. Total repair cost to the insurance company was just over $1500. The Mustang has two creases on each door and the top one sticks out further than the rest of the entire door making crease damage extremely likely.
