I am guessing, any RHD Mustang, with indicators on the right hand side of the steering column (remember the U.K. version RHD is on the left) will have the line lock option removed.Im surprised at so many differences, especially as Ford Aus are blamed for our cars not having line lock, implying they have some influence over Ford NZ.
I didn't realise the UK cars had the indicators on the other side, but it makes sense. Having grown up with that I do genuinely have to say I think it's the better side, even for RHD; one hand to steer all the time and the other for gears, indicators, stereo etc. when required.I am guessing, any RHD Mustang, with indicators on the right hand side of the steering column (remember the U.K. version RHD is on the left) will have the line lock option removed.
What version did the South Africans get?
In Australia we get the option of a coin holder or a floor mat!!! But our home is girt by sea.... brightside........:frusty:Some interesting off topics in this thread. In no particular order;
I hadn't kept up with the issues to look for, but having checked ours now it looks pretty good in terms of panel fit with the exception of the rear plastic between the lights sitting much farther out on the passenger side (which is spotted myself and will have looked at but in no rush to give it back to the dealer yet, and the boot itself fits fine).
Ours does have really bad rear window fit however. I confess I hadn't spotted it until I read about it but it's got to be 5mm low on the passenger end. Mulling over whether that is worth raising or if it will just turn into a 3 ring circus trying to get it fixed in NZ.
Also interesting was the lead times you Aus customers are facing. We ordered on 30th Aug, hoping to make the cut for March delivery. We didn't and were told May, then the car was ready on 9th March after all.
We got no options in NZ at all. Pick the body, pick the engine, pick the colour and choose the transmission (if the model was FB), and that was it. Also no changing of anything at all after order was allowed.
We paid a deposit subject to driving a demo when it arrived. It was here late November for us to look at and we had a decent couple of hours on our own with it in early Jan.
We get the option of 3 or 4 performance kits here from Ford Racing. Stage 1 is filter, strut brace, Ford Racing badging and an axle back for 316KW at NZ4,300, stage 2 is 1 but with a cat back exhaust and remap to make 360KW for NZ$6,700, and stage 3 is 2 plus a Roush supercharger and some rear axle strengthening for 500KW for around NZ$25,000 I believe. I also believe there is a fourth more powerful supercharger based option but I don't have details of it. Is that stuff available in Aus?
Here in Welly I've seen / driven the Magnetic GT FB auto demo, seen a white GT fastball with a black roof (that we weren't offered as an option, not that we would have wanted it on a DIB with stripes), seen an SB GT FB manual with FR stage 2, spotted a Ruby FB GT, and at the dealer yesterday were two EB fast backs, a DIB and an SB. Ford brought in a DIB auto GT vert in early Nov that we were able sit in but not drive or hear running, though it was registered and was used on the road by Ford.

What size tires are you running again?:coolphotos:a shot from bathurst last weekend
