I must be just to old school here see I like seeing old fords running around with where them came from as my my cars will be handed down to my kids for there kids as will the older stangs in the shed

I remember what happened with my sister's very original old XL Futura, which had an RACQ shield/plaque think attached to the grille. My sister thought it was great, in addition to some old stickers on the windscreen. When my dad restored the car for her, he ripped all that stuff off, including the original sun visor and louvre at the back. His excuse, "If I'm doing this for free, I'm not putting up with all that shit on the car", or something like that.

Sister got divorced and moved to a smaller place and the car's now in a shed, sans all those dealer sticker and servicing sticker things.

That being said though, my 1990 BMW M5 still has its original "running-in instructions" sticker on the windscreen. Not sure why I keep it, but I do.

I don't have a problem with it, my Mustang has personalised plates anyway so no mention of the dealer. Sinclair Ford didn't even put their sticker on the rear window.

Our Territory has the Sinclair Ford branding on the rear number plate. These are NSW premium plates and that's what you pay extra for, not the branding.

I like it; although it's starting to cost a tonne to keep it on the road. 25 years will do that to a car. Your turn will come with the M Coupe I suspect.

Not part of the ///M club – this forum is as much car clubbing as I have done really.

Not historic plates – just simple Euro plates.

I wouldn't be driving out of the dealership with it or accepting delivery and handing over my cash.

I don't think you have to be an enthusiast to realize that the bloody plate doesn't fit the bracket. It's just risible really. I've seen a couple like this on the Gold Coast, with Victory Ford markings on the outside of the bracket. I don't even understand why a dealer would allow a customer to fit that to a car.

My dealer had fitted them before I arrived :frusty: but I soon got rid of them

I emailed my dealer about not fitting the plate holders and they advised me they never fit them and they leave them in the boot, so one less thing to worry about.

The dealership closet to me has been fitting them on all their cars, even when the owners have gone slimline plates and I can't belive the owners drive out with them fitted.
