I got the 50th Anniversary Appearance Package SOLELY for the grill and the rear gascap. I can't imagine driving a Mustang that didn't have a corralled pony on the front grill, and that alone was worth $1500 to me to get OEM.

If you don't want it, don't get it.

I got both because I want PP and I also think the pony should be corralled (cuz I'm old and my first car was. 67' with said corralled pony). I also wanted embossed seats and think $1500 is well with it plus the other things in that package are just icing on the cake.

I didn't see the point to it honestly, plus I ordered a 300A so it REALLY would have cost more for me.

Besides I plan on doing more of this than anything else...and this car didn't have a Corralled Pony ;) My Pony wont be corralled either.

PP + Anniversary Appearance Package

So I have a question... Poser... Rumination. Regarding ordering these 2 packages together: Why does the website indicate full price for both packages when you combine them? Do you get both sets of wheels? If not, should they be crediting you for the anniversary set of wheels. Personally I would take both sets, but if that's not an option, then don't they owe me some money (maybe $1k or so) off the msrp? Just wonderin?

Oh boy, here we go again...

EDIT: as my reply hinted, there has already been a long, heated discussion about this. But I'm too lazy to dig up the thread link...

People have answered this question dozens of times.

You don't get both sets of wheels. You don't get any "discounts" for this. You also don't get both sets of aluminum dash panels. PP overrides both. You can choose not to order both if this bothers you.

So it should be ok that I couldn't find it? ;)

Hey, you bring up a good point. What about the dash panel? They should be crediting something for that as well. Btw, are you saying my question is invalid because it's something they don't do but obviously should. It's not a "discount" to be credited for something you're not getting. You can order both together, so there should be a credit for parts you don't receive? As a matter of fact, it's SO obvious that I have a hard time believing it to be the case.

I'm considering ordering it this way, but I'm not sure yet. I need to see the cars in person. I think if you were ordering this combination it might bother you unless you enjoy spending extra money for nothing. If that's the case, I can send you the wire information for my bank account :clap2:

Your base assumption that those parts are what actually adds the extra cost of the package isn't necessarily accurate. We don't know the production costs for most of the items. The extra cost of the anniversary pack could merely be an up charge for exclusivity. Probably not entirely that but definitely some of it.

....

Long story short: Performance Package overrides Anniversary Appearance package on the wheels and (i believe) the dash panel.
Bummer... I'm planning on getting the Performance Package but REALLY like the wheels on the Anniversary Package. I don't care for the other stuff, just want the wheels.

Maybe I can find an Anniversary Package owner just before I take delivery that prefers the black PP wheels and trade... :clap2:

They won't fit over the Brembos on the Performance Pack.

My assumption is that the cost difference for the 19" anniversary wheels is similar to the 19" argent wheel upgrade as they are of similar type and identical size/tire specification. Since the argent wheels add about $1k to the msrp, I could see the anniversary appearance wheel package adding similar cost. It's true I don't know how much stuff "really" costs. I'm just looking at trends of other options.

As far as exclusivity goes, the LE cars will be exclusive, but there will be thousands of AAP cars (which will all look frigin sweet IMO) but won't be exclusive. Every 2015 will be a 50 year car which is why I want to order one if I can swing it. Otherwise I'll have to find a left over or low mileage example later. I am not however in competition with anyone to see who can spend the most money and receive the least value. I think it's a very reasonable question to ask why they double charge for parts you don't receive.
