looking for some opinions , I have a 2016 gt premium with 67k miles on it , I always changed my oil on time , however my last oil change I went way over , like 9k over before I changed it , maybe this is a stupid question , but did I mess my engine up by going so long before I changed it , this is the only time I have done this , car is currently running perfect , I appreciate any feedback.

You are not the first to go that far over.

You're fortunate in that, modern oils and engines, going over is less a concern than previous times. Further, it was a one-off, not something you've consistently done.

Many of us use synthetic oils, which are more detergent than dino. You didn't mention what type of oil you're using, but if synth, that helps. And if you use a Top Tier fuel, that helps more still.

I'd review whatever you did prior, why you missed it and work towards preventing that from happening again. Otherwise, press on.

You're fine. Just think how many non-car people are out there who treat their vehicle as an appliance. I guarantee the majority of cars on the road go double to triple the "oil change interval" before getting it changed.

You have a little bitty mole hill, don't make it a mountain in your mind.

Not only did you NOT hurt your engine it probably didn't even notice.

9k over? Wonder what that looked like when it came out.

I bet it was pretty dark.
And I'd wonder what his normal interval is?
If he went by the oil minder in the car I'd bet you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Now if he regularly changes at 3k you might.
The truth is, while it's not great to go 9k over regularly the oil probably still had most of the additive package in tact. I've sent 10k oil to Blackstone and it came back with quite a bit of life left.

Say he does 6-7k a year, 9k over would be 15-16k...

op, you need to specify. did you go 9k on an oil change or did you go 9k over the recommended length?
