That's nice, I miss the sight of your car on my way to DDC in the morning :)
People keep asking me where it is,
Even the security guard on 10 gate stopped me last night to ask

Shit! Just seen this Ian. Sorry to hear about it.

Lots of people piling in with their advice about how to deal with a powerful RWD car in the wet/cold ie like I do, treat it like one of my 100bhp+ motorcycles. Makes sense.

But what is worrying is that you say it happened at 70 in 6th, in a straight line.

6th is like an overdrive, it feels akin to Snow Mode as in mash the throttle and it will speed up but not leap for the sky style like it would in 3rd, 4th and even 5th.

I have driven my GT manual every day since I got it in early January, in some awful conditions and apart from the usual step sideways when I first pull out of my lane early morning, a few miles and the tyres are warmed up and it has never put a foot wrong.

Touch wood.

I was just starting to think that the worry about the P Zeros was just made up.

This morning it was -1c when I left for work. Bit scrabbly as I turned onto the main A road as per normal but by the time I came to the sharp right, 4 miles later, everything felt fine and continued to do so for the rest of my windy and roundabout filled commute to work with no traffic and at great speed as it was 5am on a Sunday.

As I said, worrying that your car should do that to you in 6th in a straight line.

They were never going to tell you that the tyres FORD buy from them in their hundreds of thousands are not really safe to use over a UK winter on a 420bhp Mustang, were they? ;)

Zerocool it's not so much that they're only needed for a few days a year, it's that using winter tyres the rest of the year is a lot safer than it is to use summer tyres on those few days where winters would be better.

I fitted winters to my taxi a couple of years ago, only a cheapass set to see what they were like, and they made a big difference.
you a cabbie? my dad was a london taxi driver for 35 years, had my 1st driving experience on a FX4
As for the tires on the California Special you get all Season Tires, seems to be the only Mustang model you get this tire on?

bodyshop manager texted me last night, bumper has arrived :)
Good to see Ford are starting to get their butts in gear with these repair parts, mine has been off the road awaiting repair parts for 3+ months.

Here's a bizzare one, my new bumper was ordered last Tuesday, 7 days for delivery. Rest of the associated parts were on 3 day delivery.
Ford' normal parts performance is generally very good, with same day or next day the norm in my experience. Once they get organised for the Mustang I'm hopeful it will be just as good.

Mine only took about 6 weeks to get delivered.
