I finally decided to try and make my own OTR intake. I didn‘t have to use the Ecoboost radiator to gain clearance because of the Kaenen “Bubble” hood I run(No hinges or latch, it uses Dzus fasteners). I ended up buying tubing bends that I didn’t use trying to figure out the correct bends I needed. After I was done I found out that Airaid sells a 5” tube with 5 different bends on it….this would have saved me time and money. The velocity stack can be found on Amazon for about $30. Headed to the track on Saturday to see how it runs.

Made it back to the track and reset our best ET, but only by 1/100th. Ran a 10.51 at 129 with a 1.57 60’. That’s with a 3.55 rear gear. We’ll definitely be switching to a 3.73 which should improve our 60’. The plan is to run June 12th, 13th and 14th. With my son driving this time and a few car changes, we should be about 120lbs lighter….hope to see some 10.4’s and quicker 60’. Considering all the weight we added over winter with the 8.50 cage, I’m happy with the progress so far. I’m hoping with a 3.73 and cooler weather this fall we can reach the 10’3’s.
