That shutdown will most likely help others with later ship days ship sooner. Sometimes cars wait for a full load on the train and the backup should help ensure no cars wait for a full train car. Just a wild guess, but it sounds good :-)Similar:
As I posted in some other threads:
I was an early Oct. order.
First delivery date was 2/14, then moved up to 2/11 in early Jan.
Then 2/11 came and went with no updates. In fact, the tracker would show my car as being delivered in 0 days while still in production.
Now it shows awaiting shipment, estimated 28 days to ship, and delivery of March 2, which is sooner than 28 days.
Been "awaiting shipment" for about a week.
If you check the other threads you will see there was a steering wheel shortage, and if cars piled up, I imagine there is going to be a line to get them on trucks or trains.
Good news is it will eventually show up!
Same for mine (well, 9 days). A chat with Ford Performance last week indicated that it just started at the Body Shop stage last Thursday despite showing as "In Production" since the beginning of the month, which makes sense considering the shutdown earlier in the month. It appears that the online tracker has pretty limited interaction with the actual production tracking system, and will continue showing the prior EDD until it explicitly gets corrected by a hard event, such as the car getting assigned to / loaded on a train.Mine is still in production and claims it will be delivered in 8 days. I call BS on the delivery date!
Mine went into the Body Shop stage on 2/13 and came off the line on Monday 2/18, but is still showing as "In Production / Produced", without a release for shipment, although the online tracking page is chirpily telling me that i'll have it on Thursday. In reality, it appears that it's on hold due to the steering wheel shortage.Late October 401a order. Went into production 2/12 (same on window sticker) with 3/5 delivery estimate until today. Now shows no delivery date but still in production status. No magna ride ordered but maybe another option is holding it up?
I also saw on a thread that there is a shortage of the 401a leather console lids.Mine went into the Body Shop stage on 2/13 and came off the line on Monday 2/18, but is still showing as "In Production / Produced", without a release for shipment, although the online tracking page is chirpily telling me that i'll have it on Thursday. Mine is also a 401a, therefore it would seem that the heated steering wheel from the 401a package has a high probability of being on of the steering wheel types on backorder.
Yes, but those are an issue with new order placement as opposed to accepted orders. Employees at the Flat Rock plant are the ones reporting that the steering wheels are the holdup, with stripped Lincoln Continental wheels (also assembled at Flat Rock) being used to move the Mustangs around on site until the correct wheels come in.I also saw on a thread that there is a shortage of the 401a leather console lids.

This is all very interesting guys. I ordered my 401a PP1 on 1/19, built on 2/25/19 and is currently showing on a train otw to Atlanta with a delivery date of 3/14/19. This date actually got moved up from the 3/20/19. Maybe mine is a fluke, but I doubt it.
The larger parts related shutdown ended on 2/11, but there continued to be a steering wheel shortage, so the line restarted then, but all the cars coming off had no wheels. There were reportedly about 8000 cars made that way. The steering wheel shortage ended on 2/25. Cars on the line since then (such as Sasquatch's) were produced normally and continued through the process. Cars without the wheels (such as mine and Eric's) are stuck at "In Production" awaiting retrofit of the wheels. Anyone's guess as to how long or in what order that will take.I read that the steering wheel shortage ended 2/11 but they were 8000 units behind so adding a shift to catch up. My window sticker says 2/12 but still showing in production with no delivery date.
That story's a month old and already out of date. Because of the shutdown and steering wheel shaortage, the plant is going to remain on double shift through April 15. The reduced work schedule was already built into the ordering system. If your blend date is past April 15, it was always assuming the Flat Rock staffing plans. If your blend date is before that, no worries there either. Not good news for me my car is not in production yet. Smaller workforce in April.
