... I have a LOT to learn to get to that level. Right now I'm getting passed by 20 yr old minivans and buicks because I trying to take it easy on the car. Once or twice a week I'll open the throttle up but not much.

You've come to the right place.
You arent doing anything wrong and are wise to respect her.
Your stang was made for you.
There will be a honeymoon period where you will get acquainted.

You may find that she is more likely to slap you should you experiment or explore her limits in a manner that pleases you while in public or around others. You might find a semi private empty parking lot without curbs, or any obstructions to learn about recovering from oversteer at low speeds.
As the rear comes out, release the steering wheel and reduce throttle as the wheel slides thru your fingers as grip recovers. Start small and work up to powerslides.
Now keep in mind that you dont want to risk this next to minivans full of kids driven by mom or her teenage son.

Its a stang and has a pretty freakn tough drivetrain.
99% break cause you hit something, not because of drivetrain failure.
Have fun!

Might I suggest using the capabilities of the car. These cars scream when kept in the powerband. What gears do u have in the rear? Nitrous will exponentially increase torque but only use at wot.

I totally understand, my Fiesta ST blows the tires off in 2nd gear at 2500 rpms whereas the mustang kinda feels like its bogging although its really just the nature of the N/A motor.

I'm pretty positive the Roush kit is what you want, its where the torque is at.

Are you driving in sport mode? What rpm are you shifting around town?

Mine feels so much better in traffic if the car is in sport mode, and I shift around 4,000 etc instead of 2,500 rpms like the Fiesta.

The power band inflates as the engine revs and its more fun, just move your shift points up 1,500 rpms around town.

I've thought about doing this as it would be a perfect way to learn! However, I haven't found any that don't have 3' high concrete pillars/light posts staggered throughout them. :(

The Ford Racing calibration supposedly adds 40 pound feet of torque at 1500 RPMS? That sounds like a decent start for around $500.

Thanks

If your worried about warranty go with the roush stage 1 and have a dealership put it on for you.
^These are probably all your options. Sports mode and ford power pack 2 are the cheaper options. Sports mode really helps imo as the car is boring down low without it.Get Roush stage 1/buy 2018 mustang are the more expensive options.

Mine is a basic...no modes other than traction and steering. And I prefer normal steering as the sport adds too much tension without much improvement and the comfort is too loose.

Oh, forgot they didn't have sport mode.

I'm pretty sure sport mode just adjust the throttle position, so you get more throttle with less pedal effort vs non sport mode.

So a tune supposedly even adds more throttle sensitivity and input than does the "sport" mode.

So from what I've read, most tunes should help you out with what you are looking for.

For the price the tune, is going to be your best option.

More bang for your buck than a 2018 Mustang, supercharger etc.

Here is the dyno for the Ford Tune http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66786&highlight=power+pack

If you have a manual, try starting in 2nd. I find the gearing in 2nd gets the car moving much better in part-throttle as 1st is really short.

Give it a try.
