Why not post up a photo though? You are proud of your shiny new thing, but no photo?
Dont feel the need to show off I suppose- it's a car. Same black GT S550 everyone else has here. Not an exotic fancy car.

Dude you aren't even the OP so I'm not even talking about your car...you're right, I don't care about your car.

That's the funny thing, you don't have to pay $1000+ for your car. I honestly don't care what some may think about that expenditure but I watched the entire process from start to finish, including the polishing of the paint prior to the application of the Opticoat. The entire detail took 9 hours from start to finish. So subtract the cost of material, and you're probably looking at rough $80/hour for labor. I personally don't know any detail shop that charges less than that for their work in this area, maybe your situation is different.

And no I don't have pics to share: 1, because I don't have a good camera, and 2, you can't tell the difference in a photo unless half the car was done and you could see a side by side comparison.

So basically, you don't have to like it or agree with it...I honestly don't give a crap because it's my money and your opinion of how I spend MY money isn't even a blip on my give-a-shit scale. So unless you have something constructive to say, feel free to troll someone else's post. Or, if you feel like it's your job to criticize my choices feel free to PM me so I can confer with those folks before every cent I spend on my car, that might be really helpful.

Good to hear. I bet it looks great. Looking forward to seeing pics. I will be getting CQuartz Finest on my Ruby Red soon. I can't wait!

I did a lot of research and debated about whether or not to have it done. I ultimately decided it would be a good long-term investment for me. In my situation I went in wanting paint correction. Getting CQuartz Finest was only a few hundred more so I figured I'd get my money's worth.

I love how a nice clean polished car looks and feels, its an amazing experience for those first 20 minutes or so. For me personally, with how much I drive my cars, I found the uphill battle to be futile (especially with factory paint). Ill admit that I often envy the cleaner and shinier version of my car when it passes by, but I do remind myself that the thousands saved by not keeping mine that way will cover the expensive of a high-end paint job in 4-5 years.

Yea, I don't know how people keep their stuff so clean. I'll give my car a good detailing and cleaning, and I swear, a day later it's dirty. I basically get pollen year round here in central texas, so it's always covered.

I do "only" clean it once a week... any more than that would drive me crazy.

It has a 5 year warranty that covers the protectant itself. Obviously they don't warranty the paint as it's not a magic shield against rocks and other hazards. The guy that did mine is going to come by in a month and do any corrections that are required like re-applying to low areas or buffing down any high spots in the coating. This is free of charge from him and then every year he will schedule an inspection to look the car over and maintain said warranty.

As long as I don't use an abrasives, cleaner waxes or harsh chemicals he says the coating should last a lot longer than the 5 year warranty.

Swear by liquid glass, if you can't afford the more expensive coats, this is the way to go, can't believe the depth this stuff gives my paint, and black pp rims.

I had Opticoat Pro put on my race red and I think it's amazing. I took it to cars and coffee and people were arguing with me saying I had the car repainted and there is no way this came from Ford. It looks wet and like a mirror. Here are a few photos. If you don't want lay out that much cash then don't do it but I'm sure glad I did it. It was worth it for me.

That's a sick ride you got there! And yes, the difference is absolutely noticeable. I looked really good when the guy buffed and polished the paint, and it looked 10x better than that after the opticoat was on!

I'm super ignorant to whats being discussed so I have some questions for OP and the guy and posted pics of his red.

1. What is the stuff they put on? Is it a type of paint, clear 3M material like a wrap or just a REALLY good paint correction, buff, wax, detail, and sealant?

2. Can It be removed fairly easily?

3. Will it degrade in rainy weather or heat or the cold?

4. Can you do it yourself?

5. Do they also coat the outside exterior plastic trim.

Here is my understanding of Opti-Coat.

1. This is a pre-polymer which is similar to a clear coat. So this will permanent bond to your existing clear coat and provide an additional layer. So you need a real good paint correction before applying.
2. It can be removed but you'll need to remove it by polishing or wet sanding. So it won't wash off over time.
3. Shouldn't degrade in the environment and should provide better protection that the urethane clear coat.
4. It a chemical reacting and bonding to your car so you can do it yourself but you need to correct mistakes within 10 minutes of applying.
5. I'm not sure about this one. I want to say you'll need to use a different product for this.

I'm not an expert on this or know the science behind it this is just my understanding. I'm sure traditional detail methods will work and protect your car just as fine but this is the route I go with my cars. On my Audi RS5 I used CQuartz which is a nano film that doesn't permanently bond. I have heard of these chemicals failing on people so make sure its applied properly and it fully cures.
