I was just wondering if anybody has put something like an older Roush 2.3 or VMP Gen 2/3/3r on a DI motor using spacers like you world use to put a Predator blower on a DI motor? I'm swapping a gen 3 engine into my 66 Mustang and I have a brand new Gen3r that I bought for a previous project, and I'd like to use it without deleting the DI if possible.
Thanks!

I had a Gen2R on my Gt500 when I totaled it. I reached out to VMP to see if there was a way to adapt it to my Gen3 '18 Mustang GT. I never got an answer back from them. I would imagine it could be done, as there are guys using the Stock 2020+ GT500 TVS's with an adapter, but I have not heard of anyone that has done it with the older Roush or VMP units.

Pretty sure all you need is a DI delete and a lower manifold from MFP Australia.

the bolt pattern is Gen 2 though so that lower manifold is probably not even necessary.

Ask your tuner. Many people retrofit blowers all the time

I finally got around to test fitting the VMP Gen3R on the DI motor, it would take about a 2" spacer between the heads and the lower manifold for the intercooler to clear the DI, just in case anybody wonders. DI delete it is.

Thanks!

You should reach out to boost works. They just made a lower manifold and it looks to be worth the money.

DI delete it is.
Be careful. The existence of the “di equipped” switch in hptuners leads you to think tuning to delete gdi is simple. It is not. A commercial tuner I associate with attempted to tune a DI delete and never could get it to stay in closed loop. He contacted hptuners, who told him this is normal for DI delete and nothing can be done to make it stay in CL. The logic fundamentally relies on gdi and it’s ingrained in the code. If there is some trick to making it work, I don’t know it.
