im a dick with little paitence for "dicking about" as they say. so if it was my kid i would slash the tire over night or steal the valve stems valve and then its on to the next thing in life

Not here. I picked up my first car (66’ Fairlane GTA) and drove it straight to my dad’s mechanic. It was winter so they put snow tires on before I drove it again. Safety first, always.

You must have been a rich kid. I never had that much money to just immediately go out and buy new tires. I didn't purchase snow tires until I was in my 40s.

And I'm jealous of the Fairlane as well. My first car was a '76 Cutlass.

And my dad never had a mechanic either.

I hydroplaned into a wall in the rain in a 2001 Honda 2000. My own damn fault for not checking the tires. It just never occurred to me that tires could wear out so fast.... less than 20k miles. Now I'm looking at 15k miles.
