Im looking for a 65-67 mustang 289 engine to rebuild. I dont know much about the 60s mustang, only 95+. I have one crappy pic of the numbers from a 289 that is for sale locally

. I just want to figure out if its a real 65-67 mustang engine so I can possibly buy it.

Actually the C6AE-6015-C block was used in Mustangs, the one in your photo was cast in May 1967 and could have been used in a very late production 1967 or very early production 1968.

For my $$ the very best SBF book out there is Bob Mannel's "Small Block V8, 1962-1969"....
